I've heard it many times before.Females with negative views/opinions of blacC men(usually darker men) and in time they make the now expected I'm done with blacC men statement.Some speak in general terms and others choose to considers shades and skin tones.

Now usually when this is expressed and I picC up on it, it's followed by."Oh I don't mean you" or "You know you don't count" etc,etc,etc..... And that's where people miss the point. When you make a blanket statement I AM A PART OF IT!
Because if you didn't know me personally I'd be grouped into the same group as those you have now selected to classify as a "problem".

Granted their seem to be an army of men( and I use the term loosely) that don't help the misconception of the evil dark skinned blacC man, but the people I communicate with are too intelligent to make such assumptions.

But since this world is for from perfect, I know this will continue to happen, so understand that there is no exception for me.Good, bad or ugly, I'm as blacC as any of them.

Sooooo what do you get when you add a piss poor economy and the holidays?I'm not sure cuz I seem to end up broke on Dec 24th either way.But its all good.I've done about 75% of my x-mas shopping leaving only a few things to picC up.Sometimes I stop and wonder what it is with me because I really enjoy giving.I love knowing that in a ugly ass world like this I can put a smile on someones face.Even if I know the odds are against them doing that for me.I friend of mine told me "That with all you do, if anyone should take off from gift givng on christmas its you". A faltering statement but very unlikely.I give, its what I do.I can only think of how many surprise deliveries I've set up for my people.And it just feels good.

Do I want a surprise drop off of a dozen roses?Ummmm not so much, so I just enjoy the fact that I'm good at what I do.Even if my wallet may hate me for it.lol

Screwy ass gas prices.......

So, after I dealt with a Late Spring/ Early Summer of +$400 monthly gas costs for my Expedition.I now watch gas nose dive all over the nation.I just paid 2.26 here in NY.I can get a 1/2 tank on $25.That was a fantasy just a few months ago.I guess we better enjoy it while it lasts.

Playing Daddy......

So I just got home not too long ago from Yonkers.I had a minor situation to handle that was very unexpected.Long story short, my homegirl is a single mom doing her best to raise a young son by herself.And truthfully she has a bad temper that gets worked over a lot.Sooooooo after I got the paper work I stopped by for, she got into a bacC and forth with her son that I knew wouldnt end well.As I left and got outside I could hear the yelling from the street.I turned around and went bacC in.

Fortunately it was only yelling but I hate conflict and noise.So instead of going home I had a 30 minute convo about behavior, communication and expression with an 11yr old boy.I've always been aware of NOT speaking or interjecting on parenting issues but I didnt like the tone of things.He was crying when I started and smiling when I left so I guess job well done.

I'm perfectly aware that this boy has no real father.A biological does exist but he's a piss poor example. I can only hope that something I said holds in his overactive mind.

I'm gettin' old......

I remember being in college.Sittin' in the cafeteria with the rest of my people chattin' about the random things college students chat about and of course at one point or another the convo would switch to sex.This resulted in TONS of laughs and the ever so classic moment of silent when someone said something that caught the group off guard or accidentally gave away just who among the group they wanted to get with.Light hearted, playful and relatively innocent.

Now, 4-5 years removed from college I get a slight shiver of discomfort when I hear sex talk from the upcoming youth.Am I just weird or what?It's like they've gotten a new toy that they really shouldn't have received for another few years.

I like to think that we weren't that bad at that age but maybe we were.....I don't know, but when I hear 18,19,20 yr old females referring to a guys' "DicC game" as the only reason their talking, I cant help but think something is wrong.

I saw a commercial last nite for Kmart that was advertising their newly implemented Lay-Away program. Ok most folk who arent on the high end of the pay scale know what law-away is.Honestly I never saw anything wrong with it when moderately used but just seeing it trumped up as this great new option on T.V really shows just how bad the economy is getting right now.And as the holidays march on I wouldnt be surprised if this is a new trend among more mainstream stores.
