Hometown News

In New Rochelle, the lil corner of NY I call home there was a recent story about politics in the school system. What do you think?

Students at an elementary school in New Rochelle, NY, a largely Democratic suburb of New York City with a City Council and School Board dominated by Democrats, were recently assigned an in-class assignment to color in drawings of Barack Obama to mark the occasion of the inauguration of the 44th President. The drawings depicted Obama in various heroic poses, flags waving in the background, but one drawing went beyond adulation into overt political activity disguised as a pedagogical exercise. The drawing is a campaign button, in the center of a circle Barack Obama is smiling surrounded by another circle with the words "Students for Obama 2008".

Is that all?????

Just a curious thought.Humor me for a minute. For the blog bouncing folk out there. How many advice, tip, "how to do" sex blog entries do you come across? I see a lot of them and it makes me wonder. Is that our best contribution to the world?Don't get me wrong it usually makes for a great read but I guess I like variety too. Like this blog right here has in under 10 days helped me get so much of my financial in a better space that its not even funny. I don't know this is just a ramble I guess. Folk no a guy is all smiles to a blowjob but I guess after you've read 1 "how to" blog you've read them all, but hey do I really expect to read about great sex, politics AND get financial help all by the same blogger?Probably not.lol

Bottle of VIagra + 12hr Sex session = R.I.P

Was it really worth it? See I've told folk 3 sum are over rated. LOL

I do what I want........

Ok so here's my mind set right now.6 days to my bday and to combat the bullshit that's been poppin up, I'm now officially in birthday celebration mode.6 days of light hearted pre bday enjoyment, giving thanks for another year next Thursday and then another 12 days of celebration. It'll be fun and also very informative. The guy that jumps out the window for everyone else will be a lil selfish a lil self centered you know. The incorrect assumptions, high and mighty attitudes and indirect "blahzay" vibes and the "its all about me" personalities can be kept to y'all selves. It's my time of the year and I plan to recharge and re-energize.All of which will culminate in Austin, TX.

The next 2 1/2 weeks will contain good company, good food, good drink, quality music, love and affection. If you're not willing to add to that simplistic equation then I hope you stay silent.

Yeah I can already feel the vibes.

Book 2 Review, thoughts........

This is the full follow up to my Book 2 done entry and Jillz Month 2 book review. Russell Simmons' Do You! 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success, is really in my opinion, a great book for one reason, honesty. For those that don't know Russell's history, you get a taste of who he was how and why he changed and what that evolution has done for him personally and professionally. He doesn't beat you in the head with "You have to do this MY WAY!!!" rules or orders but rather honest suggestions on paths that have proven themselves to be successful for him and others. He doesn't attempt to be perfect and candidly admits to not always staying on course himself which I find very refreshing.

Russell is Hip Hop and as such he's someone that A LOT of people speak on, speak about, judge and critique, unfairly so at times. But this whole book this whole story goes right in line with a tip from last months book. Reading the story's and words of other successful people puts you in an improved mindset to better bring out your own personal success, so to that end I finish this personal review with my favorite quote, law, rule, whatever from this excellent book.

"Empower yourself through empowering others"

This is a good read that I'd recommend to others.

Word broke out over the weekend that Microsoft had sent letters to ex-employees asking for repayment of severance package overages. Apparently damage control was able to beat the Grinch out of HR because the company apparently decided to do the right thing. Microsoft human resources chief Lisa Brummel says the company is reversing its course of action and contacting those who received the notice to advise them that repayment is not necessary.

Artistic Justice

When was the last time.......

...you where completely lost in emotion? When one single solitary force was controlling your whole frame. Was it anger that resulted in you hurting someone. Sadness that resulted in you hurting yourself. Lust that made pounce on the object of your desire. Lust that made you pounce on yourself cuz that object wasn't there?

I'm a very calculating person. I like order. I like flowing plans and logic. I get comments about that aspect of myself. But you must remember its all balance. How do you balance stone cold calm and focus. What do you think I do when I let go of restraint? Whats more powerful, my plotting mind or unbridled emotions?

In my mind.....

Getting in a celebratory mind frame.Next week is the big 28....ok its not so big but hey it's reason to be appreciate.Soooo my mind is slipping into mental gift wish list mood. I'm late on the Sean John "I am King" fragrance, so I have to try it. I already got a lil pre-styling from my "long distance, down south but always up north" fashion guru so looking forward to trying a new look out. It'll mos def work in NY. I'll have to see what the Texas weather is like. Might just play it real easy down there as far as clothing goes. Just feeling warm air will be good to me. I gotta fight the urge to cop another watch. I just laid down my new budget so I can't do the recCless watch buying anymore.....we'll see about that, birthdays do only come once a year.

Random Thought: The Simplicity of Need or Love &Hate

The internet connections cities, counties, states and nations. It brings politics, religion, ideas and beliefs into the attainable reach of you and me. The Blogesphere is the term for it today. In a few years it'll be something else. So I think bacC over my now decade of internet usage. That would be Yahoo....BlacCplanet...Migente....AsianAvenue(lol @ the name).....Crushspot.....daflaava....paxed......myspace....you get the idea. And on every site.Through the majority of comments, bulletins, blogs, surveys, status messages and so forth it all seems to come down to the same things. Men, Women and our means of dealing with each other. Some of us live by the old school rules of socializing while others create their own justifications for whatever it is they chose to do. But clearly we need each other. Men don't understand women. Women don't understand men. We all want love. We all love sex. We all need each other. So I wonder, what would we talk about if the partnering up of the sexes no longer had any guess work? What if partnerships just happened independent of what we do and these groupings lasted a lifetime guaranteed?

Month Ending Agenda.......

Final week of Feb and I'm feeling pretty good. Not amazing but blessed to see another sun rise and ready to continuing progressing in my personal productivity. I have a few goals for this week submit my paperwork to funnel money directly into my new savings account, start laying out my march budget to make sure I don't go crazy during bday celebration time. DON'T USE THE NEW CREDIT CARD!!! I know my credit is improving as I got approved for my first new credit card is yrs. I'm keeping it as an emergency credit line. I allow $50 of monthly spending on it just to keep it active. Hmmmmm what else, finish up this last class for the HR certificate. I wanted to jump right into the next course but apparently I have to wait until June to do so. No problem I'll just use that as review time. Um I have a few books to get my hands on Steve Harvey's recent release and possibly Hill Harper's letters to a Young Brother as next months reading, pending Jillz approval.

We'll see what else I come up with today.

Ladies read this and let it sink in......seriously

There is no truer statement: men are simple. Get this into your head first and everything you learn about us in this book will begin to fall into place. Once you get that down, you'll have to understand a few essential truths: men are driven by who they are, what they do, and how much they make. No matter if a man is a CEO, a CON, or both, everything he does is filtered through his title (who he is), how he gets that title (what he does), and the reward he gets for the effort (how much he makes). These three things make up the basic DNA of manhood- the three accomplishments every man must achieve before he feels like he's truly fulfilled his destiny as a man. And until he's achieved his goal in those three areas, the man you're dating, committed to, or married to will be too busy to focus on you.

After being included in a failed deal with New Orleans earlier in the week, Chris Wilcox comes to the Knicks in exchange for Malik Rose.

Larry Hughes

Donnie Walsh acquired Chicago shooting guard Larry Hughes and Oklahoma City forward Chris Wilcox Thursday.

The two deals improve the Knicks chances of reaching the playoffs and also provide the club with much needed salary cap relief in 2010.

The News first reported that a deal for Hughes was in the works on Wednesday night on its Web site (nydailynews.com).

Hughes, who was buried on the Bulls bench, was acquired for Tim Thomas, Anthony Roberson and Jerome James. Wilcox was acquired for Malik Rose. Of the four Knicks traded only Thomas was in the rotation.

Wilcox was traded to the Hornets two days ago but the deal was rescinded when Tyson Chandler failed his physical.

Hughes's contract ($13.6 million next season) expires in 2010 while Wilcox is a free agent after this season.

Even the Post's own employees are disgusted.

The mood inside the New York Post, it seems, is a mix of anger and bewilderment that the paper published a cartoon depicting the authors of the stimulus as a dead, crazed chimpanzee.

The Reverend Al Sharpton has condemned a cartoon in today’s New York Post (February 18), which features two policemen shooting a monkey and making a comment on the recently passed stimulus package.

The imagery, created by cartoonist Sean Delonas, features two police officers, one holding a smoking gun over a blood-spattered monkey that has been shot two times.

The caption above the cartoon reads: “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.”

Welcome 2 HeartBreak

As long as Kanye keeps the quality music out he can be as odd as he wants.

How strong are you?

Empower yourself through Empowering others.

This is Lesson 11 within Russell Simmons book, Do You and it makes me think and all the things I do and for the first time it sheds a new light on things. I would always look at the manner in which I aided people in distress. And how I has always there to save my people when situations got ugly. And I'd take a sense of purpose and strength from it all. My Batman mentality so to speak. But in this statement I've realized its more then that. I'm there not merely to save but to empower. I'm there to make sure my people get to a point where their issues an be handled without my intervention. Through their advancement and growth so too do I get better. The more we empower each other the more we all grow.Power through the mind, body or spirit.Perhaps through better business and parenting. I'm learning to not merely provide the food but to show folk how to cook.(Horrible example cuz cooking is not one of my specialties but you get the point.)

This weekend was the anniversary of another of NY's fallen masterful MC's

The month just Speeds by......

3rd week of Feb is here. Before you know it it'll be March.Birthday Time, Texas time, Spring time, etc...but first things first. I need to step up my time management. I multitask pretty well but I'm looking for little areas of non productive time during my day when I can get stuff done. I plan on finishing Russell Simmons "Do You" this week and then selecting the book of the month for March.Open to suggestions on that one.I spent a good part of the weekend reviewing and evaluating my financial habits and my budget going forward. I located a billing/payment loophole that once addressed will greatly free up my ability to save.

Other then that the taxes were done and sent in last Monday, smh @ me already getting my state refund in 4 days and my federal before this business week is over. And the only other area of business is the brain storming, plotting and formation of the seasonal episode charts I need to make for the Omega Nexus animated. Keeping busy. Hope everyone is being progressive and productive.
