Ok, ok the colorful title is a bit for effect cuz everyone involved is pretty cool for the most part. While coming home late last night I got a short BBM from one of my guys to hit him up today. He wanted my feedback on something. Long story short he's a good guy, no kids, no criminal record, educated, etc....but he's developed a thing for a girl he knows. She's attractive but seems pretty cool with her ghetto celeb type life. She's not a bad person from what I've seen.....she can be a bit loud and over the top from the one interaction I've had with her but it is what it is. Anyway, my boy tells me he finally stepped to her on some "I know we're cool...." type stuff and from he's words she didn't wanna take things to the next level. She didn't really reject as much as she hit him with the relax 'Friend Zone" response. This clearly didn't sit well with him so I asked me what do I think.

"Man, I'ma be real with you. In spite of everything you feel you're bringing to the table and its a lot, it doesn't matter if she doesn't have that attraction, that spark for you. The truth is you bring more to the equation than she does. Ideally you'd show her things she hasn't seen, open her view point up to things bigger then what she deals with presently. Unfortunately I've learned that no matter how much sense it makes in your head that she should want to rock with you, the reality is that she will more then likely stay within her element and deal with folk that dont compare to you at all. They'll be some bare surface superficial thing that has her feeling this guy or guys and it will make no sense to you. Be clear. As long as you have a crush on this female, yes I said crush, you're gonna be in funny state trying to figure out why others get the shot you want. It's classic and it happens to us all. I suggest you fill your space with another or other women...."

Curious if he'll listen. I expect he'll try to talk to this girl a few times before getting the hint.

I don't over react. I know that this NBA season will be an odd one for a number of reasons, but with all that said the Knicks have too much talent to be in the position they are in. I've never been a fan of coach D'Antoni and the way the Knicks built this team while positive in the overall layout is now completely void of the quality guard player needed to succeed in the league today.

Following Saturday nights double OT loss to Carmelo's old team Denver, there was much soul searching in the NYK locker room.

“A bunch of stuff comes into mind when I’m just sitting here just thinking,” Anthony said. “Maybe I should take the blame for the games that we’ve been losing. The offensive struggles. The coaches do run the offense through me so I’ll take it. I’ll take that blame.”

Anthony is playing hurt and has the shooting percentage to prove it. He's made 35 of his last 105 shots since spraining his left wrist and right ankle. As a result, Anthony revealed he is considering shutting himself down until he gets his body right. He plans to address his medical status with the Knicks’ training staff on Monday.

But Anthony’s issues aren’t just physical. Eleven months after the celebrated trade with the Nuggets, he and Stoudemire are struggling to develop any chemistry. And Anthony, aware of the criticism around him, acknowledged that he could be the problem — maybe.

“I think we as a team need to do a better job getting Amar’e the ball,” Anthony said late Saturday. “I don’t know. I have the ball in my hands, maybe it’s on me. Maybe I need to get him the ball a little bit more. Help him out with that.

“I don’t know. Me and Stat will talk, probably tomorrow, Monday, try to figure it out together. If I’m doing too much I want him to tell me. I want the guys on my team to tell me if I’m doing too much and we’ll handle him like that.”

“Maybe I need to stop shooting a lot I don’t know,” Anthony said. “It’s just a bunch of stuff that goes through my mind right now. Obviously, that’s the case when the shots are not falling. You start thinking that maybe you’re shooting too much.

“For me personally, as one of the leaders of this team, the way the offense goes through me, maybe I shouldn’t put all the blame on myself but that’s just me. I’ll take it. I can deal with that. I can deal with that pressure.”

I started Vlogging around 2006. It was a way to express myself while slowly utilizing technology that was new to me. About a yr into it a recorded a 7 or 8 part rambling rant. It was sparked by a female close to me but set off a lot of things that had been swirling in my head. I'm not gonna load the vid. Its on my youtube channel. Johnson: They made some great moves. I can't wait to see them come back. If they can stay healthy with the shortened season, I think we'll be in the hunt in the Eastern Conference.

Zwerling: Do you think the team is missing any pieces to win a title?
Johnson: Of course, I think we can use a little bit more talent at shooting guard -- getting a nicer shooting guard or a penetrating point guard. I like what we've got now, but you can always use a couple more pieces, especially when you're trying to compete with Miami and those guys.

Zwerling: How impressed have you been with Iman Shumpert?
Johnson: I haven't really seen him too much, but I hear he's doing pretty good.

Zwerling: Did you play with any rookies who were able to step right in like him?
Johnson: Well, when I was there we had a couple. John Wallace was a heck of an addition to us. It took him a while, but John did great. He really stepped up. He had a great year at Syracuse that year before. He was from New York, too. I thought John came in and did an excellent job.

Zwerling: You played with a pretty formidable frontline alongside Charles Oakley and Patrick Ewing. Now, 10 years later, the Knicks have Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler. Are there any similarities you see?
Johnson: Well, not really. I think we were bulkier down low than those guys. Those guys are faster and what not.

Zwerling: Is there a player in the NBA who reminds you of yourself?
Johnson: Well, it's hard to say. I was like the undersized power forward. You have a couple, like my man over in San Antonio, DeJuan Blair. I think he was compared a couple times to me. He actually might be a little bit stronger and a little bit bulkier than me down low. I was shooting the three. But I see a little bit of similarities right there, or Elton Brand in Philly.

Zwerling: By the way, have you been to the renovated Garden yet?
Johnson: You know what? I went back several times last year and I was looking at models, but I haven't been back since they really got started.

Zwerling: Looking back on that shortened season in 1999, how did you prepare for the schedule? Did you approach it differently than previous ones?
Johnson: Well, it just changed for everybody. I thought Jeff [Van Gundy] was very critical with the coaches, making sure of things. We had a veteran team. I thought Jeff did a good job with keeping us healthy and keeping us excited for games, and not over-pushing us and just trying to getting it all out in once. In that shortened season, from the jump you've got to be ready.

Zwerling: Did the transition feel easier for you guys because you weren't a new team coming in? This season's Knicks have eight new players.
Johnson: Yeah. We had maybe more of a veteran team with Patrick, myself, Oakley and those guys. I think we were just more aware of what was going on. We really knew what to do at that point. We didn't have too many rookies during that shortened season. Like I said, the coaching staff did a great job, too.

Zwerling: Have you gotten a chance to talk to your former teammate Mark Jackson, who's now a first-time coach with the Warriors?
Johnson: Mark's a great coach, a great guy. He's really a student of the game. I haven't had the opportunity to talk to him since he really took the job, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to run into him soon.

Zwerling: So, are you still getting some shots up here and there? You play in Vegas a little bit, right?
Johnson: Man, I'm back a little bit sometimes. If I do anything, I step out there as a dad and show my boys some things. But even I can't even mess with them anymore. I can't really say I get them up.

Johnson: I'm getting into it. I've got three sons and they're all, "Do this, do that, do this." So I get a little tired of asking them for help, and they get a little tired of trying to help me.

Zwerling: What's your favorite electronic right now?
Johnson: Absolutely that iPhone. I need it. I've got to have it. I don't have a favorite app -- just everything.

Zwerling: You've got to be pretty excited about UNLV, starting 16-2 and leading the Mountain West.
Johnson: I've been in and out of Vegas, so I haven't been able to watch them so far. I'm trying to take care of business flying back and forth.

Zwerling: Besides your work with Duracell Powermat, what else has been keeping you busy these days?
Johnson: My three boys. They're all playing basketball. AAU, college, high school games. So they keep me pretty much busy. Then in my free time, I do a little personal appearances here and there. I still come back to New York a lot, like the Captain Morgan's event last year. But those guys keep me pretty much busy. My oldest is a freshman at a junior college outside of Chicago. I have two more in high school in Dallas, Texas.

Zwerling: Is their focus to get where you got, obviously playing in the NBA?
Johnson: I don't think they're really that into it. They just like to play. I don't think it's anything after college, though.

Zwerling: Before I let you go, any goals for the new year?
Johnson: I wish I did, man. I'm just working on myself, trying to be better than I was.

Dear Customer Who Stuck Up For His Little Brother

You thought I didn't really notice. But I did. I wanted to high-five you.

Yesterday I had a pair of brothers in my store. One was maybe between 15 and 17. He was a wrestler at the local high school. Kind of tall, stocky and handsome. He had a younger brother, who was maybe about 10 to 12 years old. The only way to describe him was scrawny, neat, and very clean for a boy his age. They were talking about finding a game for the younger one, and he was absolutely insisting it be one with a female character. I don't know how many of y'all play games, but that isn't exactly easy. Eventually, I helped the brothers pick a game called "Mirror's Edge." The youngest was pretty excited about the game, and then he specifically asked me, "Do you have any girl color controllers?" I directed him to the only colored controllers we have, which include pink and purple ones. He grabbed the purple one, and informed me purple was his FAVORITE.

The boys had been taking awhile, so their father eventually came in. He saw the game, and the controller, and started in on the youngest about how he needs to pick something different. Something more manly. Something with guns and fighting, and certainly not a purple controller. He tried to convince him to get the new Zombie game "Dead Island" and the little boy just stood there repeating, "Dad, this is what I want, OK?" Eventually it turned into a full-blown argument complete with Dad threatening to whoop his son if he didn't choose different items.

That's when big brother stepped in. He said to his dad, "It's my money, it's my gift to him. If it's what he wants, I'm getting it for him, and if you're going to hit anyone for it, it's going to be me." Dad just gave his oldest son a strong stern stare-down, and then left the store. Little brother was crying quietly. I walked over and ruffled his hair (yes, this happened all in front of me). I said, "I'm a girl, and I like the color blue, and I like shooting games. There's nothing wrong with what you like. Even if it's different than what people think you should." I smiled, he smiled back (my heart melted!). Big brother then leaned down, kissed little brother on the head, and said, "Don't worry, dude."

They checked out and left, and all I can think is how awesome big brother is, how sweet little brother is, and how Dad ought to be ashamed for trying to make his son any other way.

Now I dont know if this is a kid with unique taste, a gay thing, girl trapped in a guys body and I really care less to figure that part of things out, but the standing up to his father of the older brother touches me as an older brother myself. I've had this discussion with my group in prepping the release of the Omega Nexus. I'm someone that believe in legit strong numbers through grass roots marketing, personal interaction with my base face and slowly building a following that supports the brand. On the flip side I have partners that more concerned with getting largers in bulk maybe via group and corporate sponsors.

Maybe it differs depending on what your doing. If you're just flipping stuff for profit then yeah its really just a numbers game. But if what you do is what you love and you are more attached to your brand, I think you want to be able to have legit community of support behind your movement.

In the end is it really just a numbers game more then anything?

Well my Knicks off a win last night in Washington came to the D and shut it down early and often. To my surprise it was a defensively outstanding effort vs a team on full rebuilding mode. The squad may have set a record for number of dunks as alleys went up to Tyson 3 times, twice to Iman and both Melo and Amare served up facials on the Pistons. They're back to .500 and I'm hoping they'll deliver some payback on the Bobcats back in MSG on Monday.

REDMOND, Wash. (CBS Seattle) – Microsoft has been granted a patent for its “avoid ghetto” feature for GPS devices.

A GPS device is used to find shortcuts and avoid traffic, but Microsoft’s patent states that a route can be plotted for pedestrians to avoid an “unsafe neighborhood or being in an open area that is subject to harsh temperatures.”

Created for mobile phones, the technology uses the latest crime statistics and weather data and includes them when calculating a route.

The patent, written in a combination of tech-speak and legalese, was awarded to Microsoft earlier this week. It also described other uses for the new GPS technology.

One section of the patent mentioned that advertisers can use the technology to navigate a user through a newly set up ad campaign.

Microsoft declined to comment to CBS Seattle.

Looking Back on 2011 on the BLVD & Future Goals

It's that time of year where we put a year of activity into retrospect and also plan ahead for another year of progression. Blu Flame Blvd is quite literally the digital manifestation of my mind. It expresses a good portion of my random thoughts, views, feelings and desires. This past year was a good one on the professional front snagging the nicest contract assignment I've had yet. It actually resulted in less blogging due to the high level of security and work volume at the office, but the pay helped set a many of issue straight for me.

The Internets have been their usual mixture of good and bad. Incorporating Twitter into the Blvd scene was a new but a pretty simple integration. Hump day continued on but had a few periods of pause. Can't have sex on the brain all the time. The summer saw the arrival of my UK pal Elisha Jade, who has numerous appearances on the Blvd, while on her Men's Magazine tour. She even came thru w/ Ms Evita Robinson here for support for her lengthiest and most in depth Interview to date w/ my Blog Talk partner Telisha aka Goddess I. Telisha and I again linked to bring her Mange a Talks show from the Internets of Toronto to New York City in the Battle of the Sexes.

On the nerd front it was always active. We welcomed back Thunder Cats to the airwaves. Drove down to Philly for the East Coast Black Comic Convention. NY Comic Con was more nerd heaven. I reminisced on our video game past . Saw Kung Fu Panda 2 , Green Lantern, X-Men First Class, Harry Potter, and much more. Came across cool fellow nerds like the 3 Gorgeous Geeks and Jazmine whose part of the Nerd Locker team.

I think more so then what happened on the Blvd was what was happening off it with my people. The Ladies made a major claim for the year 2011 and you'd be hard pressed to say it wasn't their year. The continuous progression of these women had me in iSupport over drive.

This was also the year that I finally decided to put a legit face to my business minded supportive acts. This will be revealed in the new year but things are looking much clearer.

Things I Hope Don't Make It To 2012

Yeah critical, judgmental, opinionated, yes I'm all that at times and wrapping the year up I'ma throw out a top 10 list of things I hope don't make it to 2012. This isn't a celeb bashing list so there's no wishing for less Kardashians in the new year. This is what I see done by the regular folk that always has looking at my screen like this......

So, let's not waste anymore time and dive into my "Hope I don't see you in 2012" List

10. Adults sounding like kids on FB- I always thought that as you get older certain things stopped and an automatic maturity kicks in. This is not so as I've witnessed adults (40yrs and older) littering Mr Zuckenburgs social network with the most GHETTOFIED nonsense I've ever seen in my life. You can not reclaim your youth via the Internets and informing us of your multiple baby daddy issues is well.......not a good look.

9. Indirectly Direct TMI- This is a slick one that I call the "I see what you just did" posts. The casual statements that slide in the mention of "I'm going to get a Brazilian wax" or "Damn I hate how my hair looks after a night of sex" etc,etc...... You get my point. Wanting to share something clearly private without seeming like you want that attention is no longer cute. Lets reclaim privacy again.

8. Tasteless Online Imagery- Ok, ok, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I get this, but men and women alike are violating with some of these thirsty ass bathroom photo shoot images. If that's the image you want to send to the masses then invest a few dollars and get legit shots taken. Your ass poked out or your 6 pack doesn't hide the dirty mirror or laundry behind you.

7. Fictional Social Life- I'ma need people that utilize the Social Internets and do so via mobile devices as well to be aware that FB and Twitter usual show what device your posting from. Android, Web, BB, etc....so DON'T inform the masses that your "living it up having the time of your life" when I know you're home and you dont even realize that "Via the Web" just exposed your fraudulence. Keep it real.

6. No Simping- My God I feel like some of y'all would easily risk catching a charge to get some pu$$y. Leave these women alone. If she ain't interested keep it moving. You coming out of pocket, dropping $ in her paypal, and aint even smelled the girl in person. No Bueno.

5. Less EXPERTS more FANS - One thing I can say is that the Internets are an interesting place to chop it up with sports fans. The Knicks, Giants & Yankees fan bases are massive which this true blue NY'er loves. BUT, I really hope for the pseudo Sports Analysts to fall back a bit. Opinions are great, educated talk is wonderful but if you aren't getting paid or making a living off it spare me with the "I'm always right" Sports God talk. If you were THAT on point with it you'd be on ESPN not on twitter while at the supermarket. Let's tone it down a bit.

4. Fewer Comedians - Why does everyone swear their funny? I feel like the online comedian is many times supported less by people that think their funny then people that feel that laughing and cosigning them will somehow result in a better chance of sex. Just a thought.

3. True Female Sports Fan - This relates to #5 a bit. It's funny cuz I've been on these Internets since the late 90's and many folk I saw then I see or know now. I know who is legit with their sports fandom. True support that is a year round thing during the season, pre season and off season. Now with the speed and reach of technology we have people that were NEVER riding like that for a squad online making more noise then the guys. You reciting career stat lines and season totals straight off of Google. Jacking other folks post and tweets, not for a genuine love of the game but because "guys love a girl that loves sports". Let me be real on this. We men like women that can enjoy sports with us, but if the goal is a mixture of sports and sex then your excitement shouldn't surpass ours.We don't need you as "one of the guys" Most of the women I know that legitimately love sports like that will tune guys out during the game. THAT'S REAL. My homegirl says "Don't take me out to a sports bar cause you'll get ignored all night." All I'm saying is keep your intentions pure.

2. The "N" Word - It's already known that I don't like this word but whats ill to me now is that I hear it much. much more from women then I do from guys. I continue to express that what you speak reflects what you are around. You say "N***as aint this, that and whatever" cause you fill you're area with N***AS!!! I've seen both sides of the it and I'm sorry but when I think of the ladies I know that don't communicate in that way and I think of who they keep around them, there's a connection. They deal with Men in socializing and in business. What we speak is what we are. Let's clean it up ladies.

1. Digital Insanity - What I mean by this is that we all have things that we want to improve and change, but more often then not I see us complaining about the same issues while changing nothing about how we handle those issues. Doing the same thing again and again won't return a new result. At some point you need to acknowledge that. Stop ranting to the people and sit that ass down in front of a mirror and re-evaluate what the real problems may be.
