Future Father Thoughts: Ties....

Another new wrinkle that you'll see on the BLVD are Future Father Thoughts. Its pretty self explanatory. And no I'm not expecting to become a dad anytime soon. But I am just thinking more about it. I'm almost a decade removed for graduating college so I'm pretty sure I'm closer to fatherhood then college life.

Anyway, as I hear or read about the demise of the black father, I know that I personally will LOVE to be a dad and the idea of not being there for my child just doesn't exist in my way of thinking. One of those Father to Son moments I look forward to is teaching by boy to tie a tie properly. I remember getting ready for church every Sunday morning and going to my dad to complete the process by doing my tie. Until I came to him one Saturday and asked him to show me how to do. The next day all he had to do was straighten it a lil bit for me but from then one I've been good. It was funny that yrs later at my high school graduation I had some of my boys asking my how to tie a tie.

It's a small thing but even thinking about it now brings a smile to my face.

I love this one. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on fatherhood. I'm sure when the time comes it'll look good on you. I'm gonna laugh if you have all girls though, then you can forget the tie tying moments. Lol.

Aww! You know what's sucky (not to you but in general) most men these days don't know how to tie a tie. My son's father just learned recently. I remember being 8 years old and asking my father to teach me how to tie a tie so I could do it for my husband one day
