Hip Hop Ain't Dead..... Part III: The Loss of Our Leaders
The Deaths of The Notorious B.I.G. & 2Pac: You can probably draw a direct line from the deaths of Biggie and 'Pac to the current state of Hip Hop. The two of them cultivated a style that even a decade later is re- and misappropriated to the nth degree. Perhaps if they were still alive, they'd have pushed the genre forward....
Biggie Smalls, 2 Pac, Eazy E, Aaliyah, Big Pun, Jam Master Jay, Big L.....the list goes on. Be it though direct mentoring or leadership for example, Hip Hop has lost many who could have played a vital role in directing the course of our music and culture.
