You don't find these in the newspaper....

This first hump day of the month has me thinking about Valentines and what was one of the best gifts I ever got. It wasnt sexual or overly physical but if you wanted it to be it's easy to do.

A few yrs back I was presented with a V-Day card from a friend saying Happy Valentines day and Thanks for all you do.I was appreciative. Then I was handed another envelope, which had 5 coupons in it. Home made favor coupons to be used whenever I wanted. A 30 minute massage (never got around to using that one), a home cooked meal of my choice, a night out for drinks on her, movie night on her and a Freebie which I used for another meal. But it the creativity of the gift, the images used on the coupons that reflected the time spent in putting it together that touched me the most. It's something that a 5 year old can think up but in adults that creativity is very much lacking.

If you have someone in mind for Valentines this year, take a moment and try to come up with a lil creative detour from the usual.

I passed the card aisle today and rolled my eyes...lol

This is so true though. You've inspired me to do something special.

So true, I love things people put thought, time, and effort into. I hate chocolate, flowers just die and leave petals all over my table...blah

Nice suggestion - hope people follow it- it's nice to get/do something different for a change. Gifts are nice but would rather have some creativity- something different.

I do that for my friends/family on birthdays and holidays...car wash, meals, baby sitting (they're usually too afraid to use that coupon with me), get out of argument free card (everyone's fav from me), cleaning, etc.
One of my friends used to give free ride coupons. BEST idea ever!!

....or you could always send someone a year's supply of hot dogs O_O

That was a such a nice gesture..I'm not very creative when it comes to gift giving so its inspiring to read about examples like this.
