Last nights Knick vs Heat game was different on many levels. The Garden was electric in a way we havent felt in a decade. Even my own reactions to the game as this year has progressed is returning to the emotional, hanging on each play type manner that used to keep my mom telling me to stop making so much noise. For 10 yrs I've been conditioned to watch my Knicks in a state of nonchalant, passive boredom. That feeling is gone.
Yes, Bosh wasn't playing. Yes, it was only one game. Yes, the Knicks aren't an elite team. And Yes we don't care. No one makes excuses for the Knicks when luck screws us over so Miami will deal with it. All this with the hope (or expectation) that Carmelo Anthony will be joining the party in one way or another?
