Up close and Personal w/ Elisha Jade: Ills of the Insdustry

Many people have come to the BLVD and seen various posts featuring my friend Elisha Jade. The obvious follow up usually is "Who is she?" and/or "Why are you helping her?" Besides her just being a good persona and follow nerd I like seeing folk win after taking loses that would have stopped others dead in their tracks. The BBC recently aired a program called Music, Money and Hip Hop Honeys. This documentary showed much of the under belly of the game as it goes down over seas in the UK. It's a far cry from the bright lights of New York, L.A and Miami.

Below Elisha sits down and speaks on just how "real" this game can get.....

You know the moment when you realize that fine, accomplished brother is with a White woman? Let's call it "the wince." Three-time Grammy Award-winning artist, writer, actress, philanthropist, mother and all-around Renaissance woman, Jill Scott gets to the root of our feelings on the matter.

My new friend is handsome, African-American, intelligent and seemingly wealthy. He is an athlete, loves his momma, and is happily married to a White woman. I admit when I saw his wedding ring, I privately hoped. But something in me just knew he didn't marry a sister. Although my guess hit the mark, when my friend told me his wife was indeed Caucasian, I felt my spirit...wince. I didn't immediately understand it. My face read happy for you. My body showed no reaction to my inner pinch, but the sting was there, quiet like a mosquito under a summer dress.

Soooo for years I've been told I have a thing for asians or an asian fetish.I never got where it came from.If an attractive asian female passes by I'll look, but no more so then I would for a blacC or hispanic female.No one ever said I had a latina thing before.I've always felt that attraction is universal.Along with that may most serious realtionships have been with blacC women.So if there really some taboo about blacC men and Asian women?

I remember watching an Interacial special on VH1 by Egotrip call Race-0-Rama that covered this same topic.(I'll find a clip later)

It would just annoy me cuz it would be said to me in a manner like I dont like anything but that.When the facts say otherwise.I dont know just rambling....
