Critiquing the attention YOU secretly want.

On many of these blogs the most interesting thing is the comment section. How will folk respond to the thoughts thrown out or at times celebrity "news" that is being reported(recycled in some cases). Sometimes its hate, curiosity or compassion but 1 thing I notice a lot are the "she/he's just crying for attention" bandwagon riders. Every time something out of the ordinary happens that person is "trying too hard" or "Looking for more publicity" and I have to ask myself, How do sooooo many people with no public image or any image worth paying attention to have so much to say about those that do have a public persona?

I'm starting to think that many(not all) of those folk are just deep down envious and picking at something they long far and don't have. Much of this viral world is about the human condition that wants to be seen and acknowledged. And for some seeing other repeatedly in that spotlight hits a sore spot for them. It's basically like saying "I don't get that kind of attention so screw you have getting so much of it"

Don't get it twisted, attention whores are alive and well on and offline but I think we need to turn the skepticism down a bit and reserve it for those that really fit the bill......*cough*Tila Tequila*cough*

Ha! This is so true! I remember when Solange cut her hair everyone said she was "Looking for more publicity". When Cassie cut hers people said she was "trying too hard".

I think sometimes people have nothing really to add to a conversation and so they just fall back on standard lines like these. But you are def right about the cynicism too.

Great post!
