Rutgers Break Off Snooki vs Nobel Prize Winning Author????
32K for Snooki to speak about her reality show life vs 30K for aunthor Toni Morrison. The difference was only 2G and it should be noted that 2 different groups paid for each speaker so it wasn't the school technically paying Snooki. Either way a few folk seem a lil put off at the idea simple on principle.
"When you pay the tuition you know part of it is for student activities. It’s all about supply and demand and pleasing the student," said Gianna Santelli, 21, a junior from Nutley.
Freshman Adham Abdel-Raouf said he thought the campus show was a bargain, considering Snooki’s popularity. "Honestly, I thought they would have paid her more," said Abdel-Raouf, 18, a pre-med major from Alabama.
But other students were not happy fellow students had chosen to book someone who is most famous for "smushing" and getting drunk down the Shore.
"Such a waste of my money. If I want to listen to someone talk, they should have something intelligent to say," said freshman Dan Oliveto, 18, rolling his eyes.

Nerd Moment: Return of The People's Champion
After 7 years of Hollywood hits & misses Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson returned to wrestling like night. Well technically he didn't wrestling but for a solid 15 minutes he did what he always did better then anyone. The Rock delivered an electric promo kicking off the official road to Wrestlemania. I won't go into the wrestling specifics but seeing the crowd finally have something of substance to cheer for had the lil kid in me alive and well.

Smarter then they look.....(Expect for Snooki)

So what most people knew was the case is now for the 1st time being publicly spoken on as the Jersey Shore cast goes back and forth with MTV over their compensation. I can't say I'm mad at them. I'll never knock the hustle no matter how stereotypical it is. "Guidos" gotta eat right???? Peep the negotiation statement below.
Though the group’s contract negotiations have held up production on season “2.5″ of the series, which is scheduled to commence shooting this week, sources tell THR a deal is very close.
The cast initially asked the network for $30,000 each per episode — a 200% raise.
MTV is countering with a number that’s close to that figure, and at least a couple key members of the cast are expected to accept by the end of the day.
Though the production delay is holding up resumption of the current 24-episode season (which includes filming in Florida and New Jersey ), the salary increase may not kick into effect until a presumed third season.
Some say MTV was interested only in keeping Snooki, The Situation, JWoww and Pauly D. But another source counters MTV firmly wanted to keep the cast intact and that all are expected to return.
Not every member of the cast will receive the exact same number, however. As reported on TMZ, The Situation was also offered a hefty bonus should “ Jersey ” meet certain ratings targets.
The “ Jersey ” cast shot the first season for $5,000 per episode, and then haggled a salary bump to $10,000 for the second season of the show.
MTV released the following statement: “We don’t comment on any contractual
It does make me wonder though, just what % of these reality shows are actual REALITY anymore. I mean someone like Snooki couldn't REALLY be that dim???

I still miss the earlier Real World seasons. More relate-able cast members, less over the top interactions or maybe is was just foul mouthed busty ol' Coral. Oh well.

NBA Voice's it's View on Arizona Immigration Law.

I'm glad that people are stepping up to oppose the b.s that Arizona is trying to get over with.
"We think it's appropriate what the Suns are doing," NBA commisioner David Stern told NBA.com.
Phoenix owner Robert Sarver is outfitting his team in "Los Suns" uniforms for Game 2 against San Antonio . The game also happens to fall on Cinco de Mayo, a traditional holiday celebrating Mexican heritage and culture.
The NBA Players Association released a statement criticizing the law and praising the Suns for the move.
"The recent passage of the new immigration law in Arizona is disappointing and disturbing," said Billy Hunter, executive director of the NBAPA. "The National Basketball Players Association strongly supports the repeal or immediate modification of this legislation. Any attempt to encourage, tolerate or legalize racial profiling is offensive and incompatible with basic notions of fairness and equal protection. A law that unfairly targets one group is ultimately a threat to all.
"We applaud the actions of Phoenix Suns players and management and join them in taking a stand against the misguided efforts of Arizona lawmakers. We are consulting with our members and our player leadership to determine the most effective way for our union to continue to voice our opposition to this legislation."
San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich would have gone with the "Los Spurs" jerseys if possible. The team only has one set of that uniform back in San Antonio , having sent the second back to the NBA. (Teams need two sets of uniforms for a game.) Popovich added that the Spurs had talked about addressing the immigration topic with Phoenix later in the series.
"It's a great idea," Popovich said. "I think that came from Mr. Sarver and it's a wonderful idea because it kind of shows what we all should be about. Sure there needs to be a lot of work done, obviously. A lot of administrations have done nothing about the immigration deal and now everybody is paying the price, especially a lot of people in Arizona .
"That's a bad thing, but the reaction is important, too. And this reaction, I agree with Mr. Sarver, is inappropriate. It's kind of like 9-11 comes and all of a sudden there's a Patriot Act, just a kneejerk sort of thing that changes our country and what we stand for. This law smacks of that to some degree, so I think what he's doing tomorrow night is very wise and very correct."
