I'm calculating. I plan and I prepare..........what would happen if I just let go and let things happen. 

I like to think the things I am dealing with are putting me in a position of struggle to balance the growth and success that is to come. Clearly I try to figure out just what is going on.........it's how I work. It's what I am. I see it around me and can't help but feel a bit stagnant.

Holding It All Together

 What do you do to maintain your sanity? Walking that fine line between handling day to day business and snapping is more common a practice for me then most know. I have my own releases of stress. I don’t aim my negative and frustrations at others. My issues my problems need not be put to heavily on others. I can talk on my thoughts and feelings but the real brunt of it I willingly hold internally. Maybe a drink, more then likely a hard gym session, writing, etc…..In fact during a time of MASSIVE self reflection and overall introspective thoughts one of the things that gets me through are my people. The steady Blvd folk know how I do with my people. Be it Evita, Bright Eyes, Raven, Jillz, and many more. In truth I need my people cuz I don’t know if Jason alone is really that big a deal. To be allowed to aid in the various movements and progressive plans of these women does so much to keep my inner flame burning. 

What makes a man worth his salt? Is it the ability to provide? Is it finding a wife and forming a family. Is it the establishment of better business? To pull your self up by your own boot straps is a fundamental man point and while so much has advanced in this world some bare essentials still remain. I like to think I’m getting better with age….is that the truth or just a nice sounding excuse I’ve crafted for myself?  Maybe that why I savor all forms of appreciation because truthfully I’m feeling hella unaccomplished right now.

So We All Have Limits

 For quite a while now I have been down for whatever. This is our world so my exhibitionist side would have no issue doing the “do” outside in various locales. With the exception of the colder months, the outdoors are as much a play land as anywhere else in my opinion. Cool, warm, hot it doesn’t really matter. I’ve posted before that with the right partner sweat could be quite sexy and I mean that, but I had no clue that the triple digit heat wave of this past week would sit on the eastern U.S suffocating us with humid, inhuman levels of heat. Discomfort as I’ve never felt was the norm. And the thought came to me….If you could have your ultimate sexual encounter but it could only take place outdoors in this heat would you do it. I’m afraid to say that the glory of fantastic fellatio, riveting reverse cowgirl and Spectacular spider monkey just wouldn’t take place. The Heat would win and regulate me to the benches……

Rutgers Break Off Snooki vs Nobel Prize Winning Author????

The difference was only 2G and it should be noted that 2 different groups paid for each speaker so it wasn't the school technically paying Snooki. Either way a few folk seem a lil put off at the idea simple on principle.

But other students were not happy fellow students had chosen to book someone who is most famous for "smushing" and getting drunk down the Shore.

"Such a waste of my money. If I want to listen to someone talk, they should have something intelligent to say," said freshman Dan Oliveto, 18, rolling his eyes.

I don't care what sob story, what excuse or rationale you come up with. The mentality need to purposely elect to be in a relationship with an active criminal will never, eeeeevvvvveeeer make sense to me. Jailhouse visits, money issues...smh. I mean I'll keep it funky and admit that perhaps for some people that's the best they can do so they won't give it up no matter what. But the intelligent, the mature, the well established get no slack from me....

Hype vs Reality pt 2

I guess you can call this the continuation thought from this previous post. You see in many of my "hype" situations there is a element of overcoming the past when it involves people that I've known or situations that I've been in before. So part of the hype is that ok THIS time what would have happened and should have occurred previously will now happen. Truthfully, I rarely does. But I think the difference with that now is that I don't really have the time or interest to put into people who have repeated the same infractions repeatedly. In regards to myself I have to change the way I approach things, perhaps with a more proactive course of action.

I can use the previous Labor Day Holiday as an example. It was a time I was hyped up for on a few levels. Socializing with people and friends including seeing people I missed and those that were only digital thus far. Given the type of holiday environment in NY, especially in BK I knew and saw the signs that I may not see my peoples much. It's the combo of the setting and the people involved. Buuuuut, to my surprise in the midst of the BBQ's and parties someone came thru and earned mega points. Goddess Intellect, made it her business to keep in touch and facilitate a late night drink and food session with myself and her peoples. She easily could have stayed doing what she was doing but put that foot forward to make things happen and I respect the hell outta hear for that.

So yeah the Reality was not what I expected but not what I originally hoped for. No biggie. It's happened enough times before and I think it may be a final reminder, along with everything else I'm dealing with that change is needed. No love lost....just making adjustments.

The Consistently Inconsistent or “Trigger Words”

It’s no secret that I am a man who is big on communication in its varying styles and forms. I feel that people say so much more about themselves then what the actual words they say and type mean. In addition to that we are also creatures of habit who act in patterns if given enough of an opportunity.

So what happens to me is that I have people that always seem intrigued and show interest in things I do. So when I present the opportunity to act on the interest they flake. The follow up never happens and the no action takes place. This happens to me a lot and I’m only fortunate that he occurs online versus me wasting time and physical energy to met and converse with a person. I’ve learned to handle this is a few ways.

1)It allows me to know who to take serious.

2)In avoiding the “talkers” I’ve come to figure the “trigger words” for many people.

“Trigger Words” are words or sayings that a specific person says that represents their level of commitment to an action. (This can be positive or negative)

Yes, believe it or not many of us give away our true intentions in our speech. So it’s knowing that even though he/she said they would call back the odds and past history say its not going to happen so have a plan B. It’s the person you ask for help that replies affirmatively but you know that you better ask someone else as well as back up. It happens so much it’s actually funny now. Especially when I reveal my lack of faith in a person and it’s the classic. “Nooo that’s not true.”

It’s true…it’s damned true.

In the Midst of Lebron Fever...My NY Pride is Higher then Ever......

The following is from NY Sports Writer Frank Isola and it sums up my feelings perfectly.

We begin the day by thanking Patrick Ewing, a real franchise player and warrior who left it on the court every time he wore a Knicks uniform.

Was he perfect? No. When I see him I still tell him he has the worst hands of any all-time great player. Was he easy to cover as a reporter? Not all the time. He could be a pain in the rear but he was always honest and he always accepted responsibility for his and the team's performance.

Think about that today as we struggle to deal with LeBron James' decision to leave Cleveland in his rear view mirror and head to Miami to play the role of Scottie Pippen to Dwyane Wade's Michael Jordan.

It's clear now that LeBron had no intentions of signing with the Knicks regardless of how many times he wore a Yankees cap in public. New York would have meant pressure. Staying in Cleveland would have meant pressure and as we know LeBron, unlike Ewing, cannot handle the pressure.
