“A group of artists has been asked to lighten the faces of children depicted in a giant public mural at a Prescott school.

The project’s leader says he was ordered to lighten the skin tone after complaints about the children’s ethnicity. But the school’s principal says the request was only to fix shading and had nothing to do with political pressure.

The “Go on Green” mural, which covers two walls outside Miller Valley Elementary School, was designed to advertise a campaign for environmentally friendly transportation. It features portraits of four children, with a Hispanic boy as the dominant figure.

…City Councilman Steve Blair spearheaded a public campaign on his talk show at Prescott radio station KYCA-AM (1490) to remove the mural.

In a broadcast last month, according to the Daily Courier in Prescott, Blair mistakenly complained that the most prominent child in the painting is African-American, saying: “To depict the biggest picture on the building as a Black person, I would have to ask the question: Why?”

That was/is my reply to this "Do you go through ya man's stuff" post on Bitchie's site.

The female logic here is so typical. Avoiding all roles they may play in the situation. I'll keep it funky. I did before. Wasn't in a relationship at that time but it nearly ended a friendship cuz I found what I was looking for. It's really not even worth it. Yes officially knowing your right is a power urge but if you really have to look then your in trouble already.

So in the midst of the holiday downtime I can't help but see the stuff that's hitting the pc screens and more so then that, the reactions of people to it all. Maybe it's just me but is its really that surprising the things that make the headlines? Are we really that hard pressed for topics to converse about about? Sometimes it feels that the ease that we have to spread and share info is coming at the price of the quality of a subject. It's getting harder and harder to pick the legit writers from the bloggers that are here for a brief stay between the transition from Myspace to Facebook to Twitter. Jimmy Says Hov Is Swagger Jackin'




Jim Jones has never been one to hold his tongue, especially when it comes to Jay-Z. The Dipset member, known to have had issues with Hov in the past, is speaking out on the Brooklyn rapper's "Run This Town" music video.

After seeing the video, which premiered this week, Jones took to his Twitter to express his annoyance with Jay allegedly biting his style. ”Everytime I c ths n*gga videos he looks mor n mor like me,” Jones tweeted. “Is he tryin to Jack my splash or should I b flattered lol Thts my thng I stay fly.”

Jones also expressed displeasure with Jay-Z's "Death of Auto-Tune" during an interview back in June. According to Jones, several up-and-coming artists are eating by using the technique and consequently, Hov should fall back.

“We’re getting money off of Auto-Tune. It’s just sounding like somebody’s trying to knock a hustle and I don’t think that’s a little bit gangster if you ask me,” Jones said. “We getting money. He’s knocking the hustle, ya dig? If these young men are making money off of Auto-Tune, why would you try to stop that when you got all the money already?"

Jones also claims he ran into Jay at this year's Summer Jam but Jay wanted no part of him. "I don’t think he wanted to see me. He almost stopped the whole concert because he said I was in the way of him getting on stage and all of that. But that’s politics for the game, ya dig? How you doing? We back, we ballin’, we poppin’ champagne.”
