Common Delivers A Hip Hop Reality Check
Wasting no time Chi Town's finest gets right back to business serving a lil reality to everyone's favorite wheelchair rider.
“My Motto is/Chicago bitch/everybody know you sweet/ what the problem is/Don’t play dumb I’m the one that acknowledged it/ Son of a bitch I imagine what your father is/ She said how you make your opponent the rapper of the moment/the style he don’t own it/acting all hard when he hardly like that/You gonna mess around and make me catch a body like that/owww
The Destiny's Child sample at the end was the cherry on top!

Well Look at this! The Boy got Heart
So Drake addresses Common on the recently dropped Ross Joint "Stay Schemin'"
"It bothers me when the Gods get to acting like the broads
Guess every team doesn’t come complete with niggas like ours.."
“I just ask that when you see me, you speak up ni–a that’s all/Don’t be ducking like you never wanted nothing. It’s feeling like rap changed, it was a time it was rugged/Back when if a ni–a reached it was for the weapon, nowadays ni–as reach just to sell they record.”
Drake loves referencing his "team" but please believe I'd take Common to bankrupt the whole Cash Money/Young Money Roster. (Not counting Busta. That's another issue)

Common Prepares Us For His Latest Release
Last night, Chi-town’s Common held his first New York listener for his new album The Dreamer/The Believer. Set to drop next Tuesday, Comm really sounds like he got back in touch with his early rap roots. Paired with No I.D.’s gritty but soulful production, this album sounds like the big homie tapped into the MC that we used to know as Common Sense.

English!!!! Do You Speak it!!!!!
I remember the first person I met off the internet. I crossed paths with my dearest friend Raven on a yahoo Hip Hop board chatting about Wu Tang. She was going to college with one of my life long friends so while visiting him we all met to chill and one of the first things she said to me was "You talk the same way you type." Now that's something I've heard before and at first I didn't know how to take that as I saw no other way to talk. That's not the case these days. I find myself scratching my head at sooooo much of what people are saying now. I'm out and about. I'm social so this isn't a generation gap, but at times it seems like everyone is trying out for a reality show, comedy stand up or record deal cuz' no one's speaking English anymore. It's all catch phrases, cyber one-liners and terminology that has me just lost..... what?....What???.....WHAT!?!?!?

Careful now....People actually want Privacy Online Again????
Just when I think I'm the crazy one for still wanting and believing in the need for a degree of privacy in this "Tell All" online world, I found out that maybe I'm not alone in this thinking. I've spoken on this before so I won't drive into my views of TMI via Online, but take a moment and read the following New Times piece on the growing awareness among the youth.
Min Liu, a 21-year-old liberal arts student at the New School in New York City, got a Facebook account at 17 and chronicled her college life in detail, from rooftop drinks with friends to dancing at a downtown club. Recently, though, she has had second thoughts.
Concerned about her career prospects, she asked a friend to take down a photograph of her drinking and wearing a tight dress. When the woman overseeing her internship asked to join her Facebook circle, Ms. Liu agreed, but limited access to her Facebook page. “I want people to take me seriously,” she said.
The conventional wisdom suggests that everyone under 30 is comfortable revealing every facet of their lives online, from their favorite pizza to most frequent sexual partners. But many members of the tell-all generation are rethinking what it means to live out loud.
While participation in social networks is still strong, a survey released last month by the University of California, Berkeley, found that more than half the young adults questioned had become more concerned about privacy than they were five years ago — mirroring the number of people their parent’s age or older with that worry.
They are more diligent than older adults, however, in trying to protect themselves. In a new study to be released this month, the Pew Internet Project has found that people in their 20s exert more control over their digital reputations than older adults, more vigorously deleting unwanted posts and limiting information about themselves. “Social networking requires vigilance, not only in what you post, but what your friends post about you,” said Mary Madden, a senior research specialist who oversaw the study by Pew, which examines online behavior. “Now you are responsible for everything.”

So many options........but nothing to say.
This is a topic I'm want to speak on more in depth but first I'm curious on feedback. My question is "What are the positives and negatives of all the communicative options we have?" By this I mean that be it through blogs, myspace, facebook, twitter, etc... we have A LOT of unfiltered, uncensored, no credentials needed, public speaking and conversing going on and I see a delicate balance of the pros and cons this "freedom of tech speech" is creating.
So, what does it mean to you?

Might as well accept it.........we're all strange
You can be 16....26..36......hell 66.
Men and Women DO NOT view the world even remotely similar.Over the various sites and a decade of online activity I think I can say that is the biggest thing I've seen in the communications of numerous people.A lot of us guys come across as overly simplistic animals and so many females seem to be the these beautiful yet utterly delusional, illogical creatures of mystery. I think the less energy you spend trying to solve the riddles and the more energy you put into embracing our complexities the smoother things become.

Simple yet True
I'm not one to preach to people. I respect every ones views, faiths and beliefs. I don't beat people over the head with Christian views. The most I'd do is invite someone to church with me. Which in 28 years, has happened....4 times. The bible too, I understand like many other documents, has been altered many times over. With all that being said I see a whole bunch of common sense in this chapter.
Proverbs 12
1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but he who hates correction is stupid.
2 A good man obtains favor from the LORD,
but the LORD condemns a crafty man.
3 A man cannot be established through wickedness,
but the righteous cannot be uprooted.
4 A wife of noble character is her husband's crown,
but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.
5 The plans of the righteous are just,
but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.
6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood,
but the speech of the upright rescues them.
7 Wicked men are overthrown and are no more,
but the house of the righteous stands firm.
8 A man is praised according to his wisdom,
but men with warped minds are despised.
9 Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant
than pretend to be somebody and have no food.
10 A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal,
but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.
11 He who works his land will have abundant food,
but he who chases fantasies lacks judgment.
12 The wicked desire the plunder of evil men,
but the root of the righteous flourishes.
13 An evil man is trapped by his sinful talk,
but a righteous man escapes trouble.
14 From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things
as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.
15 The way of a fool seems right to him,
but a wise man listens to advice.
16 A fool shows his annoyance at once,
but a prudent man overlooks an insult.
17 A truthful witness gives honest testimony,
but a false witness tells lies.
18 Reckless words pierce like a sword,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
19 Truthful lips endure forever,
but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.
20 There is deceit in the hearts of those who plot evil,
but joy for those who promote peace.
21 No harm befalls the righteous,
but the wicked have their fill of trouble.
22 The LORD detests lying lips,
but he delights in men who are truthful.
23 A prudent man keeps his knowledge to himself,
but the heart of fools blurts out folly.
24 Diligent hands will rule,
but laziness ends in slave labor.
25 An anxious heart weighs a man down,
but a kind word cheers him up.
26 A righteous man is cautious in friendship,
but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
27 The lazy man does not roast his game,
but the diligent man prizes his possessions.
28 In the way of righteousness there is life;
along that path is immortality.
