Black Friday, A Different Day But Same Agenda. I'm Cool w/ It

Am I bothered by Black Friday? Nope not at all. It was ok to buy sneakers in May right?  No uproar when people blow that tax refund money on a new flat screen or laptop. If capitalism didnt make us blink any other time in the year (besides Valentine's Day, which folk love to rant about as well) then Black Friday is fine with me. This is America, making money is what most things are about.

I say instead of disingenuous commentary. Control the  power of your dollar and support businesses you actually believe in.

Oh If I Can Have This For Thanksgiving :)

Ingredients

1 8-pound ham
1/2 cup dark rum, Cruzan (or similar)

1/4 cup cane sugar, preferably Steens

1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 lemon, juiced

1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

Directions

1- 8 pound ham

1/2 cup dark rum, Cruzan (or similar)

1/4 cup cane sugar, preferably Steens

1/4 cup light brown sugar

1 lemon, juiced

1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Remove the skin, if any, on the ham. Score the surface into diamond shapes using a razor blade.

3. Bake the ham for 1 hour in the oven or until the center of the ham reads 135 degrees Fahrenheit internal temperature.

4. Combine all the other ingredients to form a glaze. Begin to baste the surface of the ham with the glaze, just enough to coat. After it has begun to stick and form an even layer, add more of the glaze. Repeat this until all the glaze is gone.

5. Bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the glaze begins to bubble and become very sticky. Remove and rest the ham for 15-30 minutes. Slice and serve.

Happy Memorial Day (Mini - Break)

Off to do whatever for this Memorial day. Hope everyone enjoys and keeps it safe. The BVLD picks right back up on Tuesday June 1st and with the new month begins a new phase of communication and interaction.

Until then all my hip hop lovers make sure you load up on the new music dropped this week by Raekwon, Red Cafe, T.I, Rick Ross, Royce the 5'9 and Dj Whutevva.

So as you shuffle through your new music I'll leave you all with some deep words from everyone's favorite revolutionary, Huey Freeman.

Damn internets = No more Surprises

So technology again makes it incapable of pre-taping anything without it leaking. Here is what is/was supposed to be the New Years Eve performance of "Run This Town". Will they do something new now since it's already been seen? Who knows.

Damn at Rhianna...... :)

All she wants for Christmas.....

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Dec 24th......

Twas' the day before Christmas and all thru New Ro,
Issues started arising so away I will go,
One friend's depressed with a mother so ill,
And a son out of surgery its all testing her will,
I'ma play Santa today dropping off gifts,
Holding her down so I'll give her a lift,
To the hospital quicc and continue my day,
Looking for Macbooks and hoping to save,
Then bounce to the Bronx to meet up on the blocC,
Exchange a few smiles hope they got what they want,
Goodfellas all day lets tip a bottle of Hen,
Bullshit aside let celebration begin,
Dessert Flower makes me proud as she continues her growth,
Moonchylde is a blessing I'm so thankful for both,
There's love in the "A", T-Dot and the isles.
I've always done it for y'all to see my folk smile,
So everyone be safe and have fun into the night,
I'ma toast to you all then proceed to get nice. ;)

Lol, cheap bastards....

Watchout cuz with the new catch phrase being "with the economy being so bad" a lot of people are using that to get away with just being cheap.People who genuinely give will have to cut bacc but keep an eye out for that person who never gave anyone anything but now is quicc to blame the economy.

I see you cheap bastards out there ESPECIALLY you corporate bastards scaling scaling bacc holiday expenses and keeping that monet for ya selfs. You're not slicC.

Spirit of Giving

Sooooo what do you get when you add a piss poor economy and the holidays?I'm not sure cuz I seem to end up broke on Dec 24th either way.But its all good.I've done about 75% of my x-mas shopping leaving only a few things to picC up.Sometimes I stop and wonder what it is with me because I really enjoy giving.I love knowing that in a ugly ass world like this I can put a smile on someones face.Even if I know the odds are against them doing that for me.I friend of mine told me "That with all you do, if anyone should take off from gift givng on christmas its you". A faltering statement but very unlikely.I give, its what I do.I can only think of how many surprise deliveries I've set up for my people. And it just feels good.

Do I want a surprise drop off of a dozen roses?Ummmm not so much, so I just enjoy the fact that I'm good at what I do.Even if my wallet may hate me for it.lol
