Woke up to my BB going off with Texts, FB alerts and before I could even focus my sight fully I was hit with news that Mega had been killed during the night. Theories of a robbery attempt were in the news coverage....Mega was not a dude in the streets like that to make a gun homicide even seem realistic. I can only pray for his family and that some form of justice comes to this situation.

I remember my team grinding hitting the clubs. The hosting gigs we got w/ Mega. The connects he shared with us. The hustles we brought to the table. Doing many things as kids that people are now doing and we had become bored with. To see him continue and get his shine w/ Hot 97 and BET on 106 & Park was great.

This shouldn't have happened. The Anger is kicking in.....so many of us HATE to see other prosper and advance. You don't wish this on anybody BUT we all know folk that live that life who deal in things like this. That wasn't Mega.

It never makes sense....

Billboard of Beautiful Black Child the Face of Anti Abortion Campaign

During Black History month we have the above billboard sparking conversation and outrage. Abortion is a touchy subject as is but I personally do find it a little tasteless a way to get your across. It's very much a scare tactic but I just don't like the way it attempts to villainize those that elect to have abortions. I dont think anyone could deny that there are many that use the procedure as mere birth control but I also think you turn people off to your intended message with such a crass presentation.

And that fact that it is so targeted to just US as black people is another point that I don't like. If it is a call out to "do better" then again we shoot ourselves in the foot by so publicly airing out our business.

I'm in a pretty laid back mood politically. Half way through the 1sr term President Obama's leadership is a period of silent observation for me. The Tea Party as we all know to some degree hasn't presented itself as the most welcome place for minorities as I can tell. Just recently the NAACP came at them full force for their racist tone.

This face off contined on CNN this week and I find it hilarious that they now decide to parade some generic black Tea Party "member" to be the public opposition to the NAACP. In ALL the Tea Party news I've seen since their emergence I never saw a single black face on the front line so to see this token negro used for media relations is classic.

The Murderer of Malcolm awaits his Freedom

The man who killed El Hajj Malik El Shabazz a.k.a. Malcolm X in cold blood, is set to be released from jail.

Thomas Hagan is the only man to admit to assassinating the leader and was found guilty of murder for his shooting death on February 21, 1965 on the stage of the Audubon Ballroom.

The convicted killer was granted parole on March 3rd and is now scheduled to be released on April 28th.

Before being granted parole, he was allowed to spend 12 hours a week in a work release program and allowed to spend time at home with his wife and kids.

X was speaking to a crowd of his followers when he was gunned down by Hagan, Norman 3X Butler and Thomas 15X Johnson.

Hagan was shot in the leg by one of X's bodyguards and almost beaten to death by the crowd
