It's Not My Fault I Dislike Your Man

I've had this convo with many of my guys who play the role of open ear, shoulder to cry on for our female friends. 99 outta 100 times the issue at hand is about a guy. We get that. But One thing I notice happens a lot is that when things are going well our friends disappear into their own world and share very little of the positive things this guy they're into is doing for them. But sure as the sun rises, when things go bad that's when the words flow out steady. I've seen it consistently for years. The end result of this imbalance is that I (we) naturally grow to dislike this man who you're so in Loooooovvvveeeee with. It's not our fault really. Without personally knowing the guy, we will have our impressions shaped from what we're told. The more negative we hear the more our vibes will swing 1 way while a healthy dose of the positive will have better results.

I have a healthy list of folk I don't like due to this.....

Lady Luck Is MAKING You Take Notice

I first heard the name Lady Luck has a feature on the EPMD cut Scenario 2000 and I was impressed. Time goes by and I hear the name again in a now legendary battle vs Remy Martin. Now due to the growth of the Internets and social media networks I see/hear the name more then ever. I've known that she was nice lyrically but with ALL the music thrown at us these days I need more of a reason to pay attention to people. I recent caught a couple of interviews (see below) by Luck that have now put her on my radar. She's honest, forthright and uncensored. Not in the "I'm doing this shock value" way but in the "I have no reason to lie to you" way. That means a lot in a game that puts females in such a tough position. I'm hoping the mainstream soon catches on to what Luck is bringing to the table.

Got My Reading Glasses On….

So this past Saturday I met up with a friend to cool out and just get my mind right. As she chatted on her recent issues I couldn’t help but realize that again I was right. All my people know I observe my surroundings. This is offline and online. I watch before I speak. I see people’s patterns, behavioral styles; it’s just how I am. So in listening to my friend tell her story it was actually like hearing it for a second time. I had to interrupt to ask a question and satisfy my own curiosity. “Ay, is this story about you and what’s his face from the party??” Stunned look, pause, she laughs……”Yeah it is but it wasn’t that serious at that point. How’d You?”  “It was pretty apparent, at least to me it was.” In truth, I personally care little for people business in that way but I like knowing my perceptive abilities are still on par. I need to be able to know what’s going on around me at all times. This is especially important regarding how men and women interact because the source of so many issues and ugly situations ends up being somehow related to that. And with me having a good number of close female friends the Guardian in me is just naturally on the look out. 

Honestly it’s very hard to conceal chemistry, or the spark or whatever you wanna call it. As guys I it’s more nature and harder to read or maybe you have to be a woman to notice it. But in observing a woman, and how one acts around certain people you can see the difference. It’s all over her face, her eyes, and the slight physical interactions that only happen between them. I see the invisible writing and I read it well.

With Ruling against Ex Wife Steve Harvey Laughs Last.

A few weeks ago Steve Harvey's wife Mary Harvey took to the Internets with a series of claims and charges against her one time husband. These accusations went at Steve with both guns blazing and sparred no one including her and Steve's kids from public commentary. That was one thing, so as is usually the case (look back at Keri Hilson for example) the online court of opinion slammed Steve on all front especially as he was preparing to release a new book. All the pro women, man bashers were in their glory but it truly was all good just a week ago...

A Texas court has ruled in on the matter and has told Mary to fall all the way back. Steve's lawyer released the official statement and paperwork detailing just how things are going down.

In addition to Mary possibly facing charges for violating a gag order, yesterday the court decided on 7 crucial points in Mary’s accusations:

(1) Mary Harvey was not homeless or evicted from her home and was awarded 3 homes in the property settlement;

          (2) Steve Harvey did not take, withhold or turn the child against Mary;

(3) Mary Harvey willingly placed the child on an airplane and sent him to Mr.Harvey without his knowledge;

(4) Steve Harvey has primary custody of the 13-year-old child;

(5) Steve Harvey did not take Mary Harvey’s wealth. Mary recieved $40,000 per month from 2005 – 2009;

(6) Mary Harvey recieved $1.5 million from Steve in March 2009;

(7) The divorce was granted on irreconcilable differences and current wife was not apart of the original divorce proceeding, nor was she the cause of the marital break-up.

A Woman's Walk Via Sports Talk

In an attempt to answer the timeless "Why nice guys dont win" question, I came across this passage. For a few reasons I cant link back to the source but here it is uncensored...

Women, you can look at it like sports.


Women in their 30's still think they have the value of a number one draft pickwho is in their prime. When they were in their prime and got drafted they were selfish and held out because they were like I don't want to play on that team(average good guy)even though their skill set would have matched perfectly with this team(good guy). Instead they decided to force a trade and sign on draft day to play for the glamorous team(bad guy/playa)in which their skill set was a terrible match. They end up on a team with bad chemistry and complain why they are not winning(married). They end up getting traded to another team with the same results.

Now when you look back at their 13 year career. She was a parade All American number one draft pick who never won anything(married) been traded to 8 different teams(Passed around by niggas) and injuries that hold her back(kids)While the second draft pick took the opportunity to play with the first team(good guy) and won multiple titles(married with a great husband/family) Now they are in their 30's and still trying to reupthat number one draft pickmoney. Teams(niggas) laugh at her silly ass offers..and offer her the vet minimum(Jump Off)

Obviously no one's tale is exactly the same but are their points here........Yes.

Just as I was about to write this I realized that I spoke on this topic before. This previous post unfortunately still holds true and for some reason it's really bothering me. Hopefully you've taken I moment to click the link and read what I wrote in Aug. Now back to the present, understanding that female aggression is just a fact of life I don't expect to see random ladies complimenting each other on their outfits or holding doors open for each other BUT why must the opposite negative extreme be so common place.

"I can't stand her", "Who that bi**h think she is?", "She needs to sit her ass down.", "Bi**h go kill ya self", "Bye Bi**h", "Oh you ain't Beyonce!", etc, etc, fucCin' etc... Really?? I mean really is it that serious? you have all right to express negative opinion or feelings towards something but damn must it be so over the top. I could blame reality T.V shows like Real House wives or Basketball (non)Wives but you know what, I'm not gonna do that cuz it's a cop out. This isn't the first wave of these shows so people know what type of b.s their co signing.

While going about my business on Tweetdeck the amount of filth and trash spewed from the mouths of  women I don't know and women I do know literally hurt my heart. And this is not limited to black women only. This isn't limited to rants about T.V shows. I shake my heads ladies ATTACK each other with force and venom as if they were protecting their only child. So wasted energy......And as I said before we men see it. We speak on it and it factors in big time. Nothing kills a sense of affection more then an unruly, wicked mouthed woman.....

I guess I should hold my breath to long for this behavior to change and just further embrace those I have around me that are able to avoid such acts.

Ms. Keri Gave You Raunchy and Makes no Excuses For It.

So by now most of the fired masses on these Internets have jumped on Keri Hilson for her recently released video. I dropped comments too because I don't think it was a good video. Raunchy yes but not a good video IMO. But with that said the over the top back lash is a bit comical to me. Especially at a time when so many folk are picking sides between Nicki and Kim but Keri is the villain for her wild expression?

They loved them then and They still love then now.

In truth....many of the stereotypical things that I grew up seeing and thought "it only happens on TV" or "Only in High School" are really true. Females do love excessive tattoos, rappers/musicians/artists & large ball players. It's interesting to see now in the 25-30 yr old range just how appealing those same character types seem to be.
