Very few people have changed. I know folk enough that within a given situation I can essentially predict the most likely of 2 top courses of actions. Depending on who it is I may hope harder that they surprise me and break their cycle, but I'm but dumb enough to think that it'll happen. I stay ready for the most likely. Not allowing much room for disappointment anymore.

The Word is CON·VEN·IENCE

The quality of being suitable to one's comfort, purposes, or needs: the convenience of living near shops, schools, and libraries.

Friendship should not be based on the above......

What Are You Paying Attention To???

Always interesting what folk do and don't pay attention to. If there's one thing I'm consistent with it's my communication. Same phone # for years, same sites, same blog,etc,etc.....If what I do matters then you dont need me to tell you everything because you can see it for yourself. I've been pushing The Omega Nexus for years now and the past 2 years has seen the growth of the Nomadness Travel Tribe. Now I get that everyone isn't the same but I make it my business to check on what people that are important or interesting to me are doing. Awards, conventions, hell I just came off a damn national tour! If you arent aware of anything I'm doing then you simply don't care. I dont want to hear "I didnt know." At this point I dont buy
it.....

Imbalance.......

Funny how folk weigh priorities different in relation to themselves and others. I watch people do whatever they want for themselves with no thought of others, but for some reason my priorities are to be linked to others say so? So many things I see.....secrets I hold......contradictions I see played out......Yeah that's funny......their rules & mine......

Rambling at 1am..........I Think Too Much

Photobucket
That's something I do and I fully accept it as pat of how I operate....The world feeds you so much info so rapidly I can help but think on whats happening outside of my knowledge....The combination of communicative tools, human ego, the need for attention and just plane old common sense swirls around in my head to create. Whats being said about you that you never hear?.....If I can hear the things that are said to me in confidence about others then I've never been naive enough to talk such chatter hasn't happened about me as well. Logic and Averages.....A recent convo raised a good point that the issue of hypocrisy is so relative because we ALL are hypocrites at one point or another........It may not be known to others but it happens. It may not be your prevailing trait but put the right set of circumstances together and you'll break you're rules in a million pieces.....I work well w/ people in general but I love when a business opportunity can succeed w/ women. If you haven't realized it many of them are leading the pack on the entrepreneurial side of things....BUT, notice I said "WHEN".....many a potential great dealing has been derailed simply because for all the independent, modern woman chat that makes for great quotes. I case of "new found love" (or just good dick) has distracted potential partners to the point of having to leave the projects alone. It's a gamble to be honest....Powerful is the woman that doesn't swing her life in a complete 180 degree turn cuz "Mr Right Now" has showed up. I say that cuz if the guy IS really all that he won't allow himself to become a distraction......buuuuuut that's just me and I'm learning my way of thinking doesn't correlate with folk much......Hoping for a great time in Toronto but as always I'm keeping myself prepared for any and everything......Nothings for certain. I know enough about the variables in play to plan accordingly......I don't ever wish ill and unhappiness on others but I take serious exception to those that seek my aid, support, comfort etc....then disappear once things improve.....its not a grudge I hold but it memory that will but fade......years of friendship isn't an invincible shield against foolishness....we have to grow up....Yes we all have our vices but I certain maturity level has to be their.......hopefully....Is omission of the complete truth a lie? Not telling what a person doesn't need to know?......Not sure.....It's in my nature to make people bigger and better then what they may actually be. Especially in a world where many 1st impressions are digital. Your slick words may be quotes taken from else where....your picture required 15 takes to get the right lighting and angle to show what you like but hide what you're insecure about....build on the positive and hope the negative never surfaces.....I've had folk till me plenty times I'm "nicer" or "not as mean" in person. I think honestly I'm just more str8 forward and stoic online. I don't try to express great emotion generally speaking on the Internets.....at least not off the Blvd. I've always let it be known that those curious of me will inquire and if the result is that I'm nicer in person then hey that's better then the opposite reaction....

So Busy Chasing Attention They're Not Paying Attention

Smh, when u've been working on something and openly communicating about it, there's always those folk that look you in the face like, "I have no clue what you're talking"....yeah cuz your priorities are geared towards nonsense. Everyone is NOT gonna be down w/ what your building. But they'll understand soon enough.

Social Internets + Excessive Talkers = New Age Female Sport Fans & Male Gossip Lovers

This is more of an observation and I know it doesn't apply across the board. With that said I feel like people by nature can't help but wave the "Look at Me" flag. As kids we wanted parental attention and approval and as we've all grown the target changes and expands but the message is the same. We want our expressions heard beyond those immediately near us. What that results in are areas that seemed to be more exclusive to one respective sex now being more integrated.....to the extreme in some cases.

There are new voices being heard across the digital waves that hasn't always been there. Deep, booming voices expressing glee at the latest Real House Wives fight now populate the Internets via FB status updates and Twitter. It's comparable to bar room guys gatherings to discuss Days of our Lives. Interestingly enough the female side is even louder as the fairer sex engulfs social feeds with Fanatical sports ranking that rivals the most excitable college fan. It's almost as if each side is trying to out do the other in showing their newly realized appreciation of sports and reality TV.

It seems a bit much at times and yes I've muted females I know and/or follow and out right deleted some guys for suspect ass communications. I dont know. Clearly there is no role that either sex HAS to play but I guess personally I like my sports noise a lil more guy dominated and my gossip related "entertainment" handle by my ladies.

Oh well......

Compromise Vs Settling

Early Sunday morning for whatever reason my mind jumped around to various couplings and pairings I saw around me. Some of folk I know, some of strangers. And I got to thinking about less then ideal situations. Situations where you know you're not getting all you want. I thought on the various actions I've seen over the years spurned on by emotion. I know what love can do but what about loneliness? What about just overall emotional fatigue? I wondered out loud via FB & Twitter what is worse, Settling or being alone on your own terms? Many said settling. Someone I respect a lot from a previous job said the following.

Being alone on your own terms doesn't negate that you are lonely. But you can get lonely... Settling with someone who is not worth your time, space, energy is a road I would suggest no one waste their time, space and energy. I have seen for myself and seen others being "kinda" happy while settling and it just eats away at your spirit which should only expect the best or at least the best for you.

The replies sided pretty steady with settling being worse but then staying alone. Then Ms. Conner gave me a different perspective on the matter with the following statement.

That's a true part of the equation I didn't think about. You see, based on my experience via my parents, I look at relationships, marriage, etc through what they have. A genuine love, long lasting and equally desired. Anything less to me seems off, but in these days I need to remember that all partnerships aren't always like that. As Stephanie would also say, "Some people are not strong enough to be alone." What ever the events may have been that caused this "condition", it's true that for some just "having" someone no matter the flaws or drawbacks is better then no one at all. 99 days of disrespect may be tolerated for the hope of that 1 day of bliss. Everyone isn't in search for the fairytale. Perhaps just being content is enough.

That's not for me and I'd rather be alone if given the options but I get it and understand it. And as time goes on and I see those that have been up against it for yrs and yrs, I understand the desire to just have someone. Do what you need to do.

Just Paying Attention

I watch behavior patterns, cycles and re-occurring trends. History repeats itself if you don't pay attention. And while I can't control others I can control how react and respond to them. And how much I allow myself to be apart of such repetitious actions.

The road to Insanity starts down there.......

Apparently a liquor influenced convo produced this next quote.

"Good Dick will make you do stupid things."

Now first and foremost I was curious if this momentary status message was a direct of the person that posted it or words of another person. With my mind, the identity of the speaker could lead me down an interesting path of thought.

It did though produce this thought. Have I ever made anyone do anything "stupid" as a result of that interactivity. Have I ever made her act out of character due to that.

Have any of you ladies honestly done something(s) stupid as a result of or in pursuit of the "D".

A current view of Love

It's another day, another friend gets engaged or turns up preg. It's interesting to me when someone I know gets a new love interest.I'm generally happy at the news, but when I hear more about it and get more detail my mind is always processing trying to see what the balance is. I'm always looking for the signs of danger vs the signs of promise. Number 1 to me is to see just how high on the priority ladder does the new person get elevated to. I have friends of both sexes who are notorious for making their new "other" the sun of their universe and it worries me every time.

You know the routine. No phone calls, random texts/bbm/emails every once in the blue to see if you're still alive and basic MIA status to everyone that's a mutual friend. That doesn't seem healthy to me. I know love can an overwhelming thing but it's got to have it's place within the grand scheme of things and not become in it self the whole scheme.

This isn't a new topic but I think what makes it stick with me more now it that we're not kids anymore that was one thing in high school and college but I personally want to know that at nearly 30, my people ain't prone to vanish over a pretty face. Things I thought were merely a product of youth are showing themselves to be much stronger.

Just be careful...

Random Thought: The Simplicity of Need or Love &Hate II

...I'll tell you something. The actions of a women in "love" can be so random and so destructive. Yet they're completely a oblivious to what their actions do to the world outside their little "wonderland". I know what's coming and the candor with which I express my feelings on certain things is going to be surprising.

The shit I've seen this summer has been VERY disturbing.
