The King is Checking for Green Card's In Hell's Kitchen

"They want me to do WHAT!?!?!"
I don't know just how much you guys follow comics but for those that do you know that currently the title of Black Panther rests not with the man that's ruled Wakanda for all these years but is now resting on the shoulders of his sister. OK, long story short, after his recent run in with Dr Doom. The Black has gone from King, Scientist, Husband to Storm....to guarding the streets of NY's Hell's Kitchen. Yes downgrade. And to make things worse Marvel is about to turn the GREATEST Black comic book hero in history in a "champion for immigrant rights in America." You kinda have to know just how BIG the Panther is within the comic world or get how disrespectful this is to fans of the character. Obviously I have no issue with immigration but as the Ruler of one of the most Powerful nations on earth. Black Panther as displayed below......is a horrible turn of events.

Holy Hump Day: Question of the Day

Put yourselves in some new shoes and tell me what you would do if presented with the following situations.
You must pick one of the following situations and please tell me in as much detail as possible which what makes one worst then the other.

A) You catch your man in bed with another woman. Not just another woman but one of your good friends

or

B) You find out your man has been cheating on you with another man.

Imagine That......

Morning Breath Vs. A.M Affection

While I've said before the Love is the most powerful thing on this planet, I may have been mistaken or at least a little premature in labeling Love as the undisputed champion. Apparently there is something that can stop Love in it's tracks......Morning Breath. This question came up last summer and I've just randomly asked a few people their views on it. Is an open mouth kiss ok first thing in the morning? 95% of the replies I got said no. Well they actually said "No, Hell No, That's nasty, Never, Nope, Eeewww, He better brush his teeth first, Morning sex yes but no kissing....etc,etc" This surprised me cuz these were the female replies. Women, the we need emotion, we need love and affection creatures of our human race all turning down this show of ultimate loving expression???

Now I can understand that this type of display A)Should be reserved for only the most loving of situations/partner ans B)It's not an everything day either but I think at, least for me, to roll over and want that with your mate is showing a great deal of affection. Yeah, does brushing ya teeth only take a few minutes?Yes, but the same can be said for getting and putting on a condom too so CLEARLY things aren't always about pure logic. Maybe I'm just odd. Similarly my woman coming in from the gym is appealing as well and I might not let her get to the shower.....

I don't know.Just thoughts. Speak on it....

Double Standard Foolery?

Big hair, fake skin coloring, and fist pumping.Yeah its the damn Jersey Shore and I'm here feeling a lil conflicted, if not semi pissed off. I'm not liking the push that this show is getting. You see previously I stated that I wanted this show to succeed in its stereotypical ways just to balance the years of Ray J and Flava antics. But now it seems that MTV is sucking it all up and supporting these guys in a manner none of the other previous minority based showed have been pushed. They had these clowns co hosting New Years Eve on MTV. Take a moment to think on that. MTV = New York on New Years Eve. That's a worldwide platform for this chick that is only known for taking a good Chris Brown right cross. Why? Why are they being treated as the saviors of TV?

All the previous shows had there basic season, a "see what we didn't air" episode and a re union episode. Basic formula. Repeated again and again. But in only 1 month of airing, these Jersey kids are all over the place. It just strikes me as 2 different sets of rules being applied here.

She knows what she wants so how will she get it?

Simple Question for the women. How do you go about getting the attention and interest of a guy you want? Not talking high school crush but you see someone you have serious interest in. If you want it to evolve what do you do to make it known both verbally and thru actions.

(And please none of that "I don't chase men bullshit")

Sweetest Day???......Really????

Over at Mason Says I learned something new. Apparently, Valentines day has an lesser known sibling called Sweetest Day. It's meaning is as follows:

Sweetest Day is an observance celebrated primarily in the Great Lakes region, and parts of the Northeast United States on the third Saturday in October[1]. Once known as a day to spread love and cheer to the unfortunate, this popular holiday in the northern U.S. is now known as a day to show affection to the loved ones in your life. It is described by Retail Confectioners International as an "occasion which offers all of us an opportunity to remember not only the sick, aged and orphaned, but also friends, relatives and associates whose helpfulness and kindness we have enjoyed.

I wonder how many guys came out of pocket for this?

"Good Hair" (Over)Sensitivity?

As most folk are aware, Chris Rock's movie Good Hair opened this past weekend.I haven't seen it as it's not a pressing priority but I heard that last week on Oprah a woman expressed her concern and feelings that she felt Chris was belittling black women. Her exchange with Chris went as follows:

I work in corporate America and I don’t want to be the butt of everyone’s joke when I walk out of a salon and my hair is nice and I have people walking up to me saying “Your hair is nice. Is it a weave? Is that Indian hair? ….It’s all mine”

Chris asks her if her hair is real and can he touch it. She let’s him

See, you can touch black women’s hair. The point is “we sit in the salon a long time. We don’t want you to touch it”. The trailer had me really upset. We are trying to promote positive black women and I felt as though you belittled us. When other races see the movie, they are going to laugh but they are laughing at us. If you had included other races, it would have been funny to us but it’s not.

Now to a degree I do see her point but I have to reserve judgment until I see the movie. I will say that at least from my vantage point black women are sometimes the worst and harshest critics of their fellow women. I guess I'll have to go check this out and see for myself.

Whats mine is yours?

I've always felt that in a relationship you start as 2 individuals and as you progress you slowly and naturally transition into sharing various things and aspects of life. Now this post ain't about anything real deep like sharing bank accounts, keys or the car. I'm talking about online social pages.LOL, yeah I know. Perhaps its just me but I just find them to be corny/creepy. Now maybe that's cuz the idea of a "couples page" is the complete polar opposite of how I express myself in a relationship online but I just find it creepy. The dual communication, typing in the plural tense, everything is now "we". It's like if you share physical space with a person do you need to share digital space too? Does that mean that anything I say to you is now basically being said to him too? I've been in those situations with the over zealous boyfriends that answer the phone for their partners and then question who I am. I'm like "Ok, I called her why am I talking to you?" which then leads me to inform said friend that if you want to reach me you call me. That's a rule me and the Fella's put into play a while ago. Female gets new guy don't call unless it's an emergency.

I could be off but I just think individuality is an important thing to maintain. When I start having trouble knowing where you end and he begins that's a bit much. Don't get me wrong. You shouldn't deny your relationship, never that BUT it shouldn't be presented in a manner that's putting your truest people in a funny position.

I was told of a situation last night that basically boiled to a female attempting to strong arm her room mates into accepting HER boyfriend to move in or she would leave. "If you want me you have to accept him" .....um, I'm not always 100% in agreement with that. If I have a close relationship with you I don't really think I need to "accept" him. He's not my friend. I can be respectful of your relationship but that really all I'm obligated to do if you are him are assholes about it.

I don't know and this blog is starting to ramble.....just thinking out loud I guess.....

Random Thought: The Simplicity of Need or Love &Hate II

...I'll tell you something. The actions of a women in "love" can be so random and so destructive. Yet they're completely a oblivious to what their actions do to the world outside their little "wonderland". I know what's coming and the candor with which I express my feelings on certain things is going to be surprising.

The shit I've seen this summer has been VERY disturbing.

More then meets the Eye???

I've come across a dilemma.I was looking forward to seeing Transformers 2. If you've been around my blog. You know I'm a nerd/big kid at heart. Cartoons and comics still rule so while I as not expecting grand story telling. I just want to see a nice modern translation of the show that entertained me at 7am every Saturday morning while eating my Captain Crunch. But, it has brought to my attention that there are quite a few points of racial stereotyping that has raised a few eyebrows. Topping that list seem to be 2 "coonish" robots that escort the lead characters throughout much of the film.

Now I'm the first person to be able to laugh at a little racial humor. And chances are that I will still go see this film but I just hope the talk I'm hearing isn't the case. Give me my Star Scream, Soundwave an Devastator and I'll be good.

Last time on "The King"

First it was the snub of Dwight Howard and then the silly interview then followed. Then it was the "look at me" MVP shirt following the Lakers title win. It's never good to harp on any topic so with the NBA draft approaching I'm done with the Lebron talk. It's said that,

"Champions are defined by how they handle adversity more so then triumph."

Just something to think about while peeping Lebron humble "$TATS" shirt....but who's heard of a humble young, black multi-millionaire.

What did Cassie do to anyone anyway?

So I heard about this and was thinking on it for a bit. Yes, I understand "shock radio" and what not but, there's a point where a man shouldn't act in a particular manner and it seems to me that this guy, Wendy William’s former sidekick Charlamagne just seem to always come off real bitchmade. I know sooooooooooooo many people (all females) that have views on how Cassie "leaked her nudes for attention" I'd have to think that even those that feel/felt that way must have some shred of sympathy after listening to this interview.

Yeah........I smell Pussy

Kinky or Crazy

Technology rules all. By merely having the latest phone the average person has video, photographic and audio recording options at their fingertips so it's only a matter of time before said person gets a little curious to the full range of his media capabilities. ;) Yeah, yeah it's not too subtle but whatever. I wanna make a movie (or 2) of some "type" This isn't brought on by any celeb stunt or leaked material. I just want to make one and see how it goes down from a different stand point. Within the course of focusing on my health and fitness and what not I really was hit with the urge to put my physicality to use in a new entertaining way. Shoot a lil POV(look it up) action, A bedroom scene, maybe a shower scene, and who knows what else. Now if and when this happens is completely unknown to me. But please believe it will. ;)
