I had on the local Christmas station on last week on the way home from the gym and as I pulled into the parking lot I caught the tail end of holiday song I never heard before. Tell This ain't one of the most moving lyrics....especially the chorus. I'm a grown man but this is some teary eye material right here.

With the recent events that have taken place I think back over the years to the people that have seen ill befall them. I think back to the situations that I have dealt with of a more negative nature. We many times speak of karma “balancing” things out, of people getting what they deserve yet I wonder if we are becoming too cynical, too spiteful too vile a populace for even Karma to balance out?
The greatest pains of my life, they have never been from me doing somebody wrong, taking what wasn’t mine or flagrantly hurting someone else. Tension and Struggle has always come from standing up for what I felt was right. Or treating people the way I thought/felt they should be treated.
When “Brown Pride” tried to mash on my boy in High School my friends and I stand up and sparked violence and conflict for the better part of a year but it was for the right reason.
As I became older the subject matter became woman. Never was I one to do a female wrong or disrespect. More often then not I was too nice. Or it was believed I must “want something” to be acting the way I was.
That’s what it is now. To treat a person properly means you must secretly be after something. Even now in the online social Internets I many times have to pull back from my natural instinct with is to show support and be positive. Why because being nice is seen as an annoyance. I support many people that I personally don’t know like that. I take what you present and give to the world and if the energy and intent feels right I’ll give you those props and respect and support what you do. Yet such things are taken for granted in a time when we’d rather “slander” then support.
I’ve felt heartache from caring for the wrong person, embarrassment from supporting strangers that couldn’t even respectfully acknowledge me, anger from giving too much to friends who refuse to change. Much of these also reflect a key part of my make up, the part of me that thinks the next person with be better, that the next time will show that not all folk are like that.
Yes I come across the good as well….just not as many. That up hill climb for positivity get pretty tiring at times.

Turner Broadcasting tries to make peace with Tyler Perry

Turner Broadcasting is trying to avoid a house of pain with producer Tyler Perry.
Perry, who has two shows on Turner's TBS cable channel ("House of Payne" and "Meet the Browns") was furious about a recent episode of the animated series "The Boondocks" that ran on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block. Cartoon Network also is owned by Turner Broadcasting.
The episode in question which first ran June 20, lampooned Perry, the creator of several hit movies, some of whom star him as Madea, an eccentric grandmother whose antics often land her in hot water. The show, which is executive produced by Aaron McGruder, who also created the now-defunct comic strip of the same name, featured a thinly veiled version of Perry named Winston Jerome. In the episode, Jerome is shown to be a closeted cross-dresser who uses religion to hide his lifestyle.
Soon after the episode aired, Perry got in touch with executives at Turner including entertainment chief Steve Koonin and Phil Kent, the chief executive of Turner Broadcasting. Perry complained loudly about the episode and even threatened to rethink his relationship with the company, people familiar with the situation said. A spokesman for Perry declined to comment.
Kent, who is a low-key executive but also a former talent agent, put his skills to work and acknowledged to Perry that the actor-producer should have been given a warning about the episode. The show, which has aired twice, is not scheduled to air again on Cartoon Network, although the company would not say if it has been banned from the channel.
Senior executives at Turner knew the episode had the potential to cause headaches when the script for it first came in more than a year ago, people close to the show said. McGruder had wanted the show to be the season premiere, but instead was moved (some say buried) further into the season.
In the original script, McGruder did not make much of an effort to alter the identity of the subject of his scorn; he had to be told to change the name of the character so it wouldn't so closely resemble Perry's. He came back with a name that was a play on Perry's legal name, but that didn't fly either. And, hence, Winston Jerome was born.
The debacle over this episode of "The Boondocks" probably won't do much to ease already tense relations between Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and TBS. Both channels compete for the same young male demographic, which often has led to spats over turf. For example, repeats of "Family Guy" that were strong performers on Adult Swim ended up on TBS too, much to the chagrin of Adult Swim. Also, while much of Turner Broadcasting is excited about having landed Conan O'Brien as host of a late-night show, the folks at Adult Swim are worried that its ratings could be hurt by the show.

I forget where I saw it but it was an interesting statement about dealing with females. It can be friends, lovers, good friends whatever, but it was stated that the mood swings or emotional changes of women need to be assumed and accepted by men and treated as something that comes with the terriotory. I’ve seen many of my guys have fits trying to deal with a female feelings and come out just looking totally confused. I wonder if in the midst of it all a woman can admit to herself that “what I’m saying really ain’t making any sense.”
I consider females to be much smarter then guys in the mental/emotional game playing department. Not playing games in a bad way but that’s just how things are. All of life is a game to me but in regards to this acceptance of woman’s emotional flux it just makes me wonder. Do ladies act out just cuz they know they can? Have you ever been in a situation that logically you were losing BUT through the use a lil womanly ploy you flipped things in your favor?
Time.com recently selected what they felt to be the Top 10 controversial cartoons with the Boondocks coming in at #5, a surprise Disney theme making the cut and a few others.Toons have come a looooong way in the "offensive" category.
