Delusions of Grandeur

Is anything funnier then the grand standing online PSAs about how much folk dont care about others opinions and how much of their life exists beyond these Internets......Yes and lets not forget that water is wet too. LOL but we all elect to utilize these public sharing platforms. We all share generally non requested, unnecessary info and images because whether you want to admit it or not you want to be noticed. You want some form of attention. Hell, we all do.

This social media sounding board makes all of us at times think we're more important then we really are. And often times apply a very unrealistic view to the reality we exist in.

I'll Never Get It.......

When I can't be me and have to feel bad/guilty for my positive intentions due to other folks insecurities it puts me in a funny space between Sad & Angry......

Social media interactions are hard to measure and quantify. What does a "Like" mean? Are they measured by sheer quantity? Do they have more meaning then comments? I see so many "rules" about how folk interrupt these signs of online approval. I regularly disassociate myself from them cuz they make no sense to me. At 30+ yrs old I be damned at the fact that folk read as much into these things as they do. I'm already the odd ball that is unapologetic with my public support of people be they male or female. But as a guy it must be assumed I'm up to something.....

I honestly wanted to punch a hole through my door over that shit. All I could say to my self is "Really?" And step out to get a meal. You see I'm horrible at faking my feelings in that way. If I dont like something I hit the switch and turn off. I cant look you in the face and smile if I'm not happy. If my desire is to support which I do on like a level 9, its hard for me to turn it down to a 6 if thats not my genuine feeling. It's easier to just turn off. Especially if it over some b.s. It may be nothing to you but in the grand scheme of what I've dealt with in this area it sickens me.

I don't get it.......and part of me has no desire to try and get it.

We're Better at Telling it then Doing it.....

I find our society to be the ultimate hypocrites. We have the easiest time sitting back and telling others what they should do and how they should do it yet never apply that same thinking to our own lives. We make mistake on top of major mistakes and yet will plop down in front of a pc and give the world our godly opinions devoid of any real support, factual backing or real life experience. It never ceases to amaze me.

Online Reality Check

Oh you want to publicly state things but not get outside public opinion or replies to it? No problem, get a blog and make it private......or better yet get a journal and keep it in your night stand.

Its called a SOCIAL Network for a reason. Folk just wanna talk and talk and rewrite the common sense rules of communication. You write your number on a wall you gonna get mad that someone calls it. It's really an attention seeking thing and I'm not playing that game.

No malice or anger but I break that nonsense down. If you can't stand by your words then don't make it public.

Quick lil thought on "Subliminal" messages on social media. After being asked what I though of them and do I do them I had to be honest and admit I kind of do. I dont do single posts about one person. If I feel that strongly I'll address them straight up, but if there's a common theme among multiple people (at least 3) then yeah I'll post about it somewhere in a general indirect manner. Maybe thats more of a vent then a subliminal???

Rambling at 1am..........I Think Too Much

That's something I do and I fully accept it as pat of how I operate....The world feeds you so much info so rapidly I can help but think on whats happening outside of my knowledge....The combination of communicative tools, human ego, the need for attention and just plane old common sense swirls around in my head to create. Whats being said about you that you never hear?.....If I can hear the things that are said to me in confidence about others then I've never been naive enough to talk such chatter hasn't happened about me as well. Logic and Averages.....A recent convo raised a good point that the issue of hypocrisy is so relative because we ALL are hypocrites at one point or another........It may not be known to others but it happens. It may not be your prevailing trait but put the right set of circumstances together and you'll break you're rules in a million pieces.....I work well w/ people in general but I love when a business opportunity can succeed w/ women. If you haven't realized it many of them are leading the pack on the entrepreneurial side of things....BUT, notice I said "WHEN".....many a potential great dealing has been derailed simply because for all the independent, modern woman chat that makes for great quotes. I case of "new found love" (or just good dick) has distracted potential partners to the point of having to leave the projects alone. It's a gamble to be honest....Powerful is the woman that doesn't swing her life in a complete 180 degree turn cuz "Mr Right Now" has showed up. I say that cuz if the guy IS really all that he won't allow himself to become a distraction......buuuuuut that's just me and I'm learning my way of thinking doesn't correlate with folk much......Hoping for a great time in Toronto but as always I'm keeping myself prepared for any and everything......Nothings for certain. I know enough about the variables in play to plan accordingly......I don't ever wish ill and unhappiness on others but I take serious exception to those that seek my aid, support, comfort etc....then disappear once things improve.....its not a grudge I hold but it memory that will but fade......years of friendship isn't an invincible shield against foolishness....we have to grow up....Yes we all have our vices but I certain maturity level has to be their.......hopefully....Is omission of the complete truth a lie? Not telling what a person doesn't need to know?......Not sure.....It's in my nature to make people bigger and better then what they may actually be. Especially in a world where many 1st impressions are digital. Your slick words may be quotes taken from else where....your picture required 15 takes to get the right lighting and angle to show what you like but hide what you're insecure about....build on the positive and hope the negative never surfaces.....I've had folk till me plenty times I'm "nicer" or "not as mean" in person. I think honestly I'm just more str8 forward and stoic online. I don't try to express great emotion generally speaking on the Internets.....at least not off the Blvd. I've always let it be known that those curious of me will inquire and if the result is that I'm nicer in person then hey that's better then the opposite reaction....

Don't Be A Social Media Re-Run

That's my term for folk that don't talk about anything new. Always the same 1 or 2 topics, usually to an extreme level. It's a kin to a channel playing the same handful of episodes all day everyday. At least in that case you can understand the monetary value of syndication. In regards to people it's just a lil annoying. Never good to be able to predict what is coming out of a person's mouth. Especially people who you know have so much more to offer the people.
