No One Way To Success....

I can't remember when a day has gone by that business thoughts haven't filled my mind. It's the core of what I'm focused on and where I what to be. Be it within the Nomadness Tribe, The Omega Nexus or other side ventures I've been blessed to be introduced to a number of ways to make business work. I'm proud to be a part of the next era of transitional young business folk. We're a group breaking free from the belief that the path to success and is only attainable via the road though college degrees and 9-5 jobs. Now while many have come to detest this ideology I make sure not to get to a point of speaking down on those that do pursue this way and who generally like it. As the number of entrepreneurs in my circle increases I often remind folks that not everyone is you. Not everyone is supposed to create and run their own business.

For as many people as I know doing these new exciting things professionally, I know just as many that are perfectly happy with a 9-5 in a field they like and rising their family. We need to be sure not to speak in a condescending manner or indirectly shame those that aren't doing what we do. They are often our biggest supporters. Many speak on society and use terms like "sheep" when in truth many of us come from "sheep" ourselves. They are the parents that came to the U.S and built the life that produced this generation of trend setters, often with multiple 9-5/mainstream jobs.  That's the balance we need. Creators of all kinds and consumers to support them.

I feel that your drive and goals should define you. Yet understand that those goals and how you go about getting them only apply to you. There are many ways to get it. There is no 1 definition of business these days and more importantly there are many, many roads to happiness.

Body Beast Day 1

It's been a minute since I really went IN on the fitness tip. I'm a gym regular but its become clear that I needed something new. In comes Body Beast. From the good folk at Beach Body that gave us Insanity & P90X comes a system made specifically for putting on muscle and shredding fat. 90 days of attacking the gym begins. That will take me to the start of April, spring time. I'm ready to make a physical statement. This is be fun.

As the roosters crow still to wake up the residents of Barabos it's already clear that this will be a big weekend. The calls for Animekon are coming in as word of the Omega Nexus' arrival spreads across the island. The opportunities are here and I'm ready to maximize them all.

Thank you all for the support for the years.

Kickstarter Update and Mission for the Week!!!!!

Thank you everyone that has supported the Nomad•ness Travel Tribe Kickstarter Fund Raiser thus far. This week we're doing it a little different. The focus is NOT on the $ amount but rather on the number of backers we can get. To back the project only costs a dollar. Currently we're at 61 backers and by next Monday March 5th, my birthday, we want to be at 100 backers. I'm honored to be a part of positive progressive movement and appreciate all the help you can give.

You can look to the side for the Kickstarter widget and click that to go directly to the main page. And thank you to the person that pledged from the Blvd already! I see you and thank you again.

Resolution Review

As the year is approaching its end I've started lining up goals for the new year. In doing that I have to look back as well. What did I want to do that I actually accomplsihed? What targets were missed? Were they realistic ambitions? Live and learn........always about progress.

Always Looking for Inspiration

I've been in constant flux regarding my fitness since my local Bally's closed 2 years ago. For a guy that likes order and having things as efficient as possible, the changes I had to make were not "huge" but they made a difference in terms of extra time to travel vs staying in New Ro. So after waiting out NYSC to drop their rates to something I could manage I've made the switch. Now I'm paying just under 3 times the amount I was paying w/ my previous gym so please believe I'm about to set up shop in this gym. It's gonna a nice summer....

Monthly Plan Sept 09'

After a pretty low key weekend it's back on the grind.

Socially this week is filled with excitement for the release of 2 big Hip Hop albums Blueprint 3 and Only Built for Cuban Linx 2. Thursday night celebration for the Raekwon's album release and the weekend birthday celebrations for Bright Eyes.

In the midst of all that I prepare to set on another fitness journey. I let the closing of my old gym throw me way of course and I'm focused on recapturing my post p90x form of last Aug and in fact surpassing that level. 228lbs is a the goal.

The savings, debt reduction and credit area of my financial plans are going well. I started the year not saving anything and with 1 credit card. I'm now saving weekly and I'm knocking out dept steadily. The big issue is trying to up my income. As we all know the last part of the economy to "improve" is the job market. So I'm on the hunt for at the very least a 2nd job or quality side hustle. People keep asking me to return to the club scene but it really isn't my thing anymore. But we'll see how thing play out. To stay on course for getting my place next year that income jump is VITAL.

On the other side of business, the Omega Nexus is about to enter a new phase as the big push for that animation deal continues. Even though its been a project so many years in the making, the fact that we continue to draw interest and attention is very energizing. Plus what we planned as a 5 part saga has now expanded into 6. More Intellectual property = move value to the company.

As I mentioned last week I finally finished Tony Dungy's Autobiography. I didn't know it was so spiritually based. It's was/is very inspiring to see a man that so wholeheartedly put his life and trust in God no matter how tragic the ordeals he had to do through. Besides that aspect of things. The underlined message of "doing what you do" really hit home. People do so much that can effect you in a negative manner, but that's only if you only them to. It's on you to keep that power and decide how you will react to what position people try to place you in. Just keeping doing you because no can do you better then you can. Power in simplicity. Next book will be The Greatness Guide 2.

There's a lot happening these days but I'm here to refocus and get the job done.

P.S Please take a moment to add the Hip Hop Democrat to your blogroll. I add my writing touch to the good people over there. All support is greatly appreciated.

Fitness Issue

Apparently I'm getting sloppy or at least off course because I seem to have lost a little bit of muscle mass and I'm NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT! The goal its 225-230lbs, but I've been hovering around 215. I do admit that I haven't been on top of my diet as I should so I must return to counting my calories and protein intake as I was last summer.

I will reach my mark.

Seek advice from your seniors, as they may provide information that opens doors to areas that are not known. The social life for the Rooster is a busy schedule. You will enjoy the company of others in many social functions and parties. Romance is highly favorable for the unattached Rooster, so flaunt your feathers.
