Another RV Tour Our Moment......

As this point the college stops are done and its final weekend. The sense of accomplishment is slowly sinking in as I look over the Las Vegas strip. I'm a low key humble guy by nature yet this night was a type of celebration I'd never had before. Have I popped bottles before? Yes but that was usually for no real reason or its a birthday which is great but thats a common thing now. We were celebrating something that was a first for the Tribe. It was a first for us. A serious bench mark. A testament to the power of perseverance. There will never be another 1st Nomadness RV Tour.

I wasn't overwhelmed but I definitely felt that pride in myself, Evita and this Tribe. I need to feel that again.....

Old Energy Lives At MSG

Does this series go beyond a 5th game? Does NY get another home playoff at MSG? I can't say but I know that for the 1st time in a long time I closed out an Sunday afternoon in May celebrating a Knicks playoff win. Are two marquee players, our who get my blame and unjust criticism then the President at times lead the Knicks to a win over the highly favored Miami Heat. Maybe it's just one day but New York deserved it.

Evita Robinson Presents The Nomadness Travel Tribe 1st NYC Meet-Up

You ever have a moment when you realized that “IT” was going down? Have you ever had your long time faith and belief in something or someone justified in a manner that even you can’t fully say you envisioned? Well, that was the feeling I had last night at Evita’s exclusive members only Nomadness Travel Tribe NYC meet up. This travel group, currently 300+ members strong and only 3 weeks old decided to not merely connect via the Internets but bridge the digital gap and actually vibe in person. I arrived 2 hours into the event just as Evita had finished her introductory speech. After making a special presentation to another phenomenal friend of this blog, Stephanie, the night of networking, building and bonding continued. Black, Brown, White, Men, Women all together as if they had been friends for years. We shared stories and told and/or showed each other our personal projects. It was amazing.

You see, in the midst of all this I had a flash back to late 2002/early 2003 as I was finishing my schooling at IONA. During her freshman year Evita and I became friends and I quickly became her biggest supporter. I never asked for anything I just enjoyed being a part of the process. At the time it was focused around for poetry so It may have been me driving her between Iona and CMR to get busy on the mic. Or an impromptu recording session for that rumored spoken word EP that’s floating around. Either way I knew I was around something great. While chillin’ with my boys approaching my graduation I was asked “Hey why don’t you holla at Evita?” It was an honest question but little did I know how dead on I would be with my answer. I replied. “That girl has major things in her future. She's not someone I wanna bog down trying to get with. I don’t know what but she’s gonna be something special and being able to give legit friendship and support is fine with me.” 8 years later her force of will is literally reaching around the world.

I’ve been bouncing around the Internets since late 1998. I’ve seen/heard a lot. As the technology evolved and the World Wide Web socialized into the standard form of communication, I’ve seen a depressing trend of using this medium to broadcast the absolute worst thing of our society. Yesterday was that much needed reinforcement that perhaps these horror stories of shameless women and boys in men’s bodies truly are the minority case being screamed out to the masses by the disgruntled few? Last night I saw the truth. Evita provided that to me and to the people. The good black men, the truly respectable women are right here. Not hiding, not on some secluded island. Folk are just too stuck in their ass backwards mentalities to see us……tough break. This is a group that successful meshes youthful energy, experience, business savvy, passion, creativity, drive and it’s all wrapped up in quite the attractive package in my humble opinion.

The possibilities are endless and I’m glad to have a front row seat to witness that magic.
Evierobbie Media, Nomadness TV, Nomadness Travel Tribe……Evita Turquoise Robinson, get familiar. I’ve been telling y’all for years now. ;)

So What Is Your Level Exactly????

I hear or read it a lot and it always makes me stop and think, especially in relation to who the comment is coming from. “Oh they aren’t even on my level anyway…” Isn’t that such a self righteous statement? A convo that I had recently with my homegurl resulted in her saying that and I swear I was glad to have my sunglasses on cuz I can only imagine the look I would gave her. What is your “level” exactly? Can anyone out there say they always deal with people that are on their level? And how do you define your level. Is it where you live, how much money you make??? It’s interesting to me because many times it’s those that have the less that project the grandest image….hood celeb status for real. But seriously, in my own observations I’ve seen very few people stick to any sort of level or standard socially. We like who we like and hope to be able to get around or change what we don’t.

Raven reps for Biggie in NYC

You know what she does and this time Raven does it for the Notorious!!!!

GlobalGrind, along with Raven the Blazin Eurasian, had an exclusive opportunity to pay respects and tribute the late, great Notorious B.I.G. at Santos Party House New York City.

Dj’s, rappers and M.C.’s came through to show love on March 9. The day we lost B.I.G. everyone showed their love and respect for Biggie by performing and sharing stories on how they met Biggie, how they heard about him and personal stories that have never been told before.

Hump Day Thoughts......

When I was a young teenager just the idea of being "liked" by a girl was a novel concept. I didn't know what love really meant but if a cute female was willing to say she liked me then that was enough for me. As years passed by there evolved more of a definition or at least requirements of what had to occupy claims of emotions to towards me but even going into my 20's just hearing "I love you" would still have the effect of making everything seem alright. Now it's almost the opposite for me. The words get my attention but to hold it is the key now. Without the ability or at least the attempt to hold those words up they run the risk of falling flat. I've put so much into "proving" myself over the years that now I stand so content in who I am that the world in general needs to so prove itself to me......

iSupport: Raven x SHEmovement.com

Old Skool Me & Raven circe 2001 I think

Those familiar with me and this blog should know my MY favorite hip hop homey Raven. As she takes over the radio waves 1 station at a time she just got some shine from the good folks at www.SHEmovement.com. I love seeing woman do their thing so check her write up from their Feb. Newsletter.

Raven The Blazin Eurasian Brings Her Skills to SHEmovement and Hip Hop Queenz on AndYouDontStop! radio

At the start of the New Year, Raven The Blazin Eurasian joined “AndYouDontStop” on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York City. Raven hosts and produces her own segment called “Hip-Hop Queenz,” where she plays only “female” Hip-Hop artists and interviews. In a male dominated genre, Raven hopes to allow women in Hip-Hop to get “their time” and “their shine,” on her platform built just for women.

As a Native New Yorker born and bred during what she considered the golden era of Hip-Hop, it only made sense that Hip-Hop music and the movement would be invested in Raven the Blazin Eurasian.

Raven’s radio experience began in terrestrial radio when she interned at WQHT Hot 97.1 in New York Cityback in high school. She then continued on to work for such radio stations as WPLJ 95.5 in Manhattan, as well as WJPZ 89.1 in Syracuse, New York.

Three years ago Raven joined The Brooklyn Bodega and created BodegaTV.

She has served as the content producer and correspondent for www.brooklynbodega.com and the annual BrooklynHip-Hop Festival. Raven has also served as the content producer and correspondent for the National Museum of Hip-Hop and Russell Simmons www.globalgrind.com.

Raven currently hosts “Da Listening Session” on www.bxrecords.com; an online radio show that focuses on old school Hip-Hop music and new school exclusives. She also hosts and co-produces “The Introduction” on www.introhiphop.com; an online radio show that showcases re-emerging artists, as well as introduce emerging artists hoping to make their own mark in Hip-Hop.

Plans and talks for simulcasting of her shows and a Hip Hop Queenz show on THE NEW www.RAPstation.com, thursday streaming on

ENEMY RADIO, and SHEradio are in effect for the world to witness this incredible womans' necessary talents.

Feel good actions.

Simple question. Ladies, a male friend very close and dear to you comes into some tough times. What things have you done to make him feel better. This can apply to a friend, crush, boyfriend, etc....

I'm looking for real life example and also how were your actions received by this person?

Sometimes it feels so good to be a NYer

Alex Rodriguez's 15th-inning home run gives Yankees 2-0 win over Red Sox

BY Mark Feinsand
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

It may have been warm, but it felt like October Friday night at Yankee Stadium.

Alex Rodriguez ended his home run drought in dramatic fashion, drilling a two-run shot in the 15th inning to lift the Yankees to a 2-0 win over the Red Sox early today, after five hours and 33 minutes.

"It's exhausting," Rodriguez said. "We were so excited the ball went over the fence, not only because we won the game, but because we get to go home."

1st Quarter Review

With the month practically over it is time for me to look at what I've done against the list of goals I've set for myself at the top of this year. Inspired my Jillian's New year New Attitude Plan, Operation Improve U was spawned to bring about personal growth and a number of key areas within our lives. I renewed and fine tuned my focus on personal growth, better fitness, financial responsibility, Professional advancement, Social growth and just working on becoming a better me overall.

This review will touch on everything except the book of the month as I will give that it's own entry. So let's begin....

1)Fitness.

In late Jan/Early Feb I started my 2nd round of P90X and things were going relatively smooth. In all honesty I was not on top of the diet aspect as much as I was the first time around, so due the time the recent birthday weekend and TX celebration came I had basically maintained my weight and strength levels. It wasn't bad but it wasn't my goal of adding 10-12 lbs of muscle. Going into the 2nd quarter I will be shaking up my regiment a bit. I'll be using the 100 push up challenge and the 200 sit up challenge. In addition to that I'll start incorporating more running into my routines. My job has a fitness challenge starting the first week of May so I'll use that as extra motivation. My biggest issue will be my diet. I know among other things I need about 1g of protein per pound to facilitate proper muscle growth, I'll most likely aim for 1.25g per pound just to accommodate the extra cardio I'll be doing. There's still 3 months until summer so I feel good that I'll pull it off. Plus I just got my physical, blood work, STD testing.Everything 100%. :)

2)Financial

Finances are much more straight forward and I'm happy at doing what I aimed for but still a lil pissed that I waited until now to do it but hey that's life. Anyway the goals were to reduce expenses, get a new credit card(at the time I only had one) and start a new savings account. Mission accomplished on all 3. I wanted to expand my credit and improve my rating so after some sound advice and I started on that and got a new credit card. I still have to finish getting some old accounts off my report but that's coming along too. The savings account is up and running well and I've been steadily cutting expenses too. In a month I'll be canceling one of my phone lines too. I'm not running around as much as before so my Curve is more then enough. With my plan to move next year, my top financial missions will be get a efficient moving list of needed items, expenses, etc created so I have a more definitive number to aim for savings wise. Also I think once I reach a certain point I'll open another savings account in a different bank.

3)Professional

This has been quite an interesting 3 months. I enrolled in a Human Resources certification class which I finished not to long ago and the 1/2 have of the certification will take place this summer. In the mean time I'll keep reviewing what I just learned and look for more bits of information online. My 9-5 has thrown a whole gang of new duties and responsibilities at me which actually makes the day move faster and helps build up the resume. Once the HR certification is done I'll see what the job market is looking like.

Now in terms of my REAL business. The Omega Nexus is still growing. After much bullshit the shopping agreement with Jamie Fox's FoxxKing Entertainment company was signed not too long ago and we're in the initial stages of directing this new partnership. We're going at this hard from a few media fronts so god willing the forward motion will continue in a very lucrative direction. I still have a book to write for the main series and new side series to create.

4)Social

Right now the focus is me. Not in a selfish way but I can't do what I want to do for me, a female or a family until my position in life has improved. This means that hell I socialize easy but there's a cap on whats going to happen. That's just the way it is right now. I'll step out for a few drinks but that's it. Bruce Wayne mode right now. I will say this though, that I do see an a part of my social behavior that does in to change. I write about it in TX and I may or my not post about it here. It's a touchy subject but conversation made me realize how immature and down right dangerous some social actions were. God didn't bring through so much just for me to act out. So yeah, have to grow up.LOL, I'm almost 30.

Overall I feel very good. I like the control I'm taking over my environment and look forward to what the year has in store for me. Hope you all are doing what you can to improve your personal lives as well. I'll drop the monthly book review a lil later.

P.S BLOGWAGON COMING SOON......

Inspiring my Inspiration

I've been really focused and paying attention to working out since like late 2005 and I wish had done so earlier. But currently its my mom that has me smiling. She got her cardio started at the top of the new year and has dropped 12lbs through running and improved diet. I'm just glad to see her motivated. That means more to me then anything I've done so far.
