Look What You've Made Me.......

It's funny what one conversation can do to/for you. Having a casual chat with good company then finding yourself in a personal moment of self examination and deep perspective change.

Let's set the stage a bit. I'm a 31 yr old man......a Black Man........a Black Man in America. That's what I am. It is not all that I am but if you ask me how I view myself then that's what you'll get. That comes with much good, much bad, much ugly. To this point in my life everyone I've dealt with understood what that means without need of explanation or clarification. In my world pre Toronto, that was just how it was. There was never a questioning of that. Issues of race come up all the time but always with the understanding of where I was coming from. As America's 1st Black President prepares for re-election season, the nation's racial tensions have been on an extreme wave that I've never seen before....case in point Trayvon Martin. Trayvon's name sparks those sensitive convo's pretty consistently. That was the case last Saturday.....

Sometimes the Digital Noise is LOUDER then Actual Voices

...And I'm honest enough to say that at times I'm a part of that noise. My mind is far too active to be rambling on away from the comfort of the BLVD. ;)

What's The Use???

With the recent events that have taken place I think back over the years to the people that have seen ill befall them. I think back to the situations that I have dealt with of a more negative nature. We many times speak of karma “balancing” things out, of people getting what they deserve yet I wonder if we are becoming too cynical, too spiteful too vile a populace for even Karma to balance out?

The greatest pains of my life, they have never been from me doing somebody wrong, taking what wasn’t mine or flagrantly hurting someone else. Tension and Struggle has always come from standing up for what I felt was right. Or treating people the way I thought/felt they should be treated.

When “Brown Pride” tried to mash on my boy in High School my friends and I stand up and sparked violence and conflict for the better part of a year but it was for the right reason.

As I became older the subject matter became woman. Never was I one to do a female wrong or disrespect. More often then not I was too nice. Or it was believed I must “want something” to be acting the way I was.
That’s what it is now. To treat a person properly means you must secretly be after something.  Even now in the online social Internets I many times have to pull back from my natural instinct with is to show support and be positive. Why because being nice is seen as an annoyance. I support many people that I personally don’t know like that. I take what you present and give to the world and if the energy and intent feels right I’ll give you those props and respect and support what you do. Yet such things are taken for granted in a time when we’d rather “slander” then support.

I’ve felt heartache from caring for the wrong person, embarrassment from supporting strangers that couldn’t even respectfully acknowledge me, anger from giving too much to friends who refuse to change. Much of these also reflect a key part of my make up, the part of me that thinks the next person with be better, that the next time will show that not all folk are like that.

Yes I come across the good as well….just not as many. That up hill climb for positivity get pretty tiring at times.

Do We Really Know How To Handle What We Want?

Personally I don't think we do. We say we want things then don't act according when the opportunity to claim these things are presented to us. The person that chases the mighty dollar only to lose it just as quickly. The person seeking companionship yet doesn't do the things needed to maintain it.

Excuses usually follow......oooh well.

The Unforgettable Moments.....

Just in a different mind frame this Hump Day.
Thinking on those moments that happen so quickly with those special people but yet linger so long.
There good. There bad. There Hard to describe.
The moment when you realize they want to be more then just "friends"
The moment you realized you've been lied to by this same person.
The moment before that 1st kiss when you realize their not going to stop you.
The moment you see the new person that has replaced you.
The moment that call/email/text arrives and you know they want you back.
The moment you start to undress them and you know their perfectly fine with it.
The moment you realize you've been used or taken advantage of.
The moment you when you want to say more but are afraid of saying too much.
The moment you learn they were never really interested in you.
The moment you realized your feelings have moved on.

Just a few....too many to throw out but feel free to comment......

Thoughts, Emotions, Desires......

.....just giving myself a space to breath and embrace this aspect of myself. Amongst the business planning, marketing strategies, trying to unify the talents around me. I sometimes yearn for the simplest things. Which makes it even that much more felt when it's absent....

Blog Challenge Day 9

This was supposed to post last night but I messed up the scheduling. No biggie. So day 9 goes a lil deeper and asks a question. What's my definition of love? Well I base it with a religious upbringing but over the it's held up pretty good.

"When I think of Heaven, the ultimate most perfect paradise, it can only be perfect if you're there."

If I love you then there can be no heaven without you in it....that works for me.

So I'm more Logic then Love huh???

Many times my head says

"Screw 'em! Do what you wanna do. Let them handle their own problems. Why you running ya self into the ground all the time. They ain't checking on you why you worried about them. Yeah they only reach out when they don't have better things to do. You not as important to them as they are to you. See that, do you call that friendship? Let'em see what it's like without. DO YOU JASON!!! DO YOU!!!!"

And yet my heart can't let that ride too long and I'll always come back to do what love has me to do.

If you don't know Evita has been selected for an online Travel show Jet Set Zero. Support her with comments on the her show introduction page. Thanks Y'all!!!

Hello, world! I’m Evita. I’m 26 years old. I’m an artist dabbling in the creative spaces of the Universe better known as writing, film, and photography. Currently based out of the Bronx, New York I’m best described as that “Other” box you check on applications. In all seriousness, I’m like a walking manifestation of the United Nations. Brad and Angelina would love my genetics. I’d be lying if I didn’t recognize that part of my lust for travel definitely comes from the fact that I’m so diverse in my own bloodline.

Travel is my drug, and Jet Set Zero has taken on the role of my new enabler for three months. How fun!

Rambling thru the Heat......

Rambling before I go.....Love is still a curious thing to me and I'm watching it with an rasied eyebrow.....I wonder when people lie to me why they don't do a better job of it.....Twitter is current entertainment of satan.....boobs can make everything better......Lord willing this time next year I'll b in the new crib maaaaaybe with a new car....decisions must be made....MIA I will got love for you even if your currently the home of basketball bitchassness.......speaking of bitchassness, Puffy has been dancing on our screens for like 15 yrs now and left a trail of shattered artists in his managerial wake.damn.....There may not be any interest but have you ever wanted to assert power over someone just to shut them up? Or to prove a point? I listen to everything but 90% of how I act/react towards a person is based on their actions. I can always count on Frankie for the illest off the wall comments...... If you talk clean but act dirty....well you can figure it out......I just saw it again. BOOBS make everything better.LMAO(horny ass old men)......Watched the open debates about the possible Mosque being built near ground zero...this anti Islam wave is scary like seriously its disturbing.....the internet is clearly the home of the subliminal insult or at least the attempt of the subliminal insult........online is where freaks and wannabe freaks can exist in peace.........The large amounts of TMI i'm exposed to result in some crazy ass thoughts in my head and I apologize for none of them.....My friend says "She not that pretty" I say "I know".....We both laugh.......Um In the case of Wendy Williams boobs DON'T make things better.......Evita was a pimp in her former....I haven't had Henny in quite a while.....the age of the stripper is in full swing.......I take it as an after thought but when has a day gone by that I havent listened to music?....Folk are too sensitive and it makes it very easy to push buttons. This is what many people do. I dont consider all communications to be as genuine as folk say they are but rather I see them as attempts to get reactions of some type...When I seperate from my emotions and connections to people I can honesty say much of the hardships we go through we bring onto ourselves....unfinished business indeed......I so hope these interviews pan out right......My home will be decorated to show my connection to my artistic friends and my overall inner nerd....I'm crazier then you....believe me.......but I'm smart enough to know I'd never stay that with the next mans dick.....Eeeeewwwwww...Hmmmm, I havent been to a water park in ages.....hoping this photography happens this summer.......after which its back to p90x.....The Tea Party can STILL choke and doggy nuts!!! I haven't forgotten 'em......when I'm crib hunting first thing I do is inspect the toilet. I need a deep bowl so the "biz" doesnt hit the water....that equals the WORST feeling....every time I see shoe shine stations I get pissed off......Sometimes "F%@* aint the world, more like DESTROY!!!!!

In it's purest form......

...hump day is having someone the takes pleasure in your pleasure, joy in your stimulation and pride in the ability to make a man comfortable and happy for whatever amount of time she can. Someone in a grey foggy area where love and lust cross paths and confuse each other you can stumble on a rare moment of passionate enjoyment.

We all need to every so often......

Aaaaawwwwww Tyler You Mad?!?!?!

Turner Broadcasting tries to make peace with Tyler Perry
June 30, 2010 | 3:03 pm

BOONDOCKS

Turner Broadcasting is trying to avoid a house of pain with producer Tyler Perry.

Perry, who has two shows on Turner's TBS cable channel ("House of Payne" and "Meet the Browns") was furious about a recent episode of the animated series "The Boondocks" that ran on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block. Cartoon Network also is owned by Turner Broadcasting.

The episode in question which first ran June 20, lampooned Perry, the creator of several hit movies, some of whom star him as Madea, an eccentric grandmother whose antics often land her in hot water. The show, which is executive produced by Aaron McGruder, who also created the now-defunct comic strip of the same name, featured a thinly veiled version of Perry named Winston Jerome. In the episode, Jerome is shown to be a closeted cross-dresser who uses religion to hide his lifestyle.

Soon after the episode aired, Perry got in touch with executives at Turner including entertainment chief Steve Koonin and Phil Kent, the chief executive of Turner Broadcasting. Perry complained loudly about the episode and even threatened to rethink his relationship with the company, people familiar with the situation said. A spokesman for Perry declined to comment.
Kent, who is a low-key executive but also a former talent agent, put his skills to work and acknowledged to Perry that the actor-producer should have been given a warning about the episode. The show, which has aired twice, is not scheduled to air again on Cartoon Network, although the company would not say if it has been banned from the channel.

Senior executives at Turner knew the episode had the potential to cause headaches when the script for it first came in more than a year ago, people close to the show said. McGruder had wanted the show to be the season premiere, but instead was moved (some say buried) further into the season.

In the original script, McGruder did not make much of an effort to alter the identity of the subject of his scorn; he had to be told to change the name of the character so it wouldn't so closely resemble Perry's. He came back with a name that was a play on Perry's legal name, but that didn't fly either. And, hence, Winston Jerome was born.

The debacle over this episode of "The Boondocks" probably won't do much to ease already tense relations between Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and TBS. Both channels compete for the same young male demographic, which often has led to spats over turf. For example, repeats of "Family Guy" that were strong performers on Adult Swim ended up on TBS too, much to the chagrin of Adult Swim. Also, while much of Turner Broadcasting is excited about having landed Conan O'Brien as host of a late-night show, the folks at Adult Swim are worried that its ratings could be hurt by the show.
