I've referenced before that as I've gotten older I want/need creativity, spontaneity and just something different to spice things up. The one thing I like about being a nerd is the limitless range of my imagination. It actually is a surprise that I've never role played before but you're never to old for a 1st time. Inspiration comes when you least expect it. Is a sexy masquerade type setting in my future? Maybe a seductive kimono clad dominatrix???

Another letter request....really doesn't make sense unless maybe they actually what you to write one on the spot for someone. Anyway here goes a little older piece that was west side desert inspired.

So how did this happen
whats the cuase of my unrest
Some traits I must be lacking
more self-doubting more stress
More looking in the mirror asking why i'm not enough
Not one to build or grow with
Not even enough to lust
Another near hit that just missed the mark
thought I was on a roll
Starting to sneak into her heart
Brief chats became extended
Strangers now befriended
Defenses start to lower as the initial worries ended
Now these two worlds intermingle
Both desire to remain single
but yet a hint of passion creeps in to create a pleasurable tingle
On a daily basis we're building nightly we're lusting
It seems from your end that yes you do trust him
And I trust you so now I'm coming thru
Plans laid down, Blu's coming to town to do what I'm gonna do
The anticipation is growing as weeks become days
I forgot my best friends birthday cause I was so kept up in your gaze
So the trip goes down and your beauty is confirmed
Not full of all the talked about passion but perhaps that must be earned
I never had a problem crawling before I run

In all a great time with no real complaints
a few things didn't go down but I didn't mind the wait
I had found someone I felt was right to be the friend I needed

not arrogant and conceited
But on my return to Gotham I was caught off guard
by a sudden change of position
The text messages,emails and calls were now missing
I didn't know what to make of it so I applied my common sense
If things were good and now there not
something happened when I was out west
My in person impression must not have lived up to expectations
The actual catch fella few levels short of what you thought you were chasing
Damn now I'm stuck again with that lowly feeling of not beening up to par

Motivational Words for a Memorial Day Weekend

While reading the newest issue of Men's Health(reading an actual magazine yeah it still happens) I came across a feature on Tyrese. Now I wasn't a fan of his originally. I remember thinking who's these brother singing and smiling about Coca Cola. Buuuuut, after Baby Boy i was like "Ok , he cool." I respect his work ethic and now I see him as an actor more so then a music maker(Lets over look that rapping alter ego thing he does,ok?). Anyway, the article speaks on him dealing with the complacency of stardom and how it had him some 50 lbs over weight. It then spoke on the direction and guidance he received from Will Smith and got him on point again.Smith shared this bit of advice....

The Five people you spend most of your time with will dictate how far your career and your life will go.

It makes sense.It's hard to progress when you fill your time with people that themselves aren't looking to progress. Just take a moment and think of who you spend your time with. I'm thating that will statement deep into my consciousness and internalizing it for those moments when certain people look to get a little too much of my time.

Time is far too valuable and impossible to re claim once lost.Thanks to the Fresh Prince for the inspirational spark.

The Measure of a Man.....Impressions

This autobiography didn't come with the plans, guidelines or advice of some of the previous books of the month. But Sidney Poitier's tale of his rise from a simple Bahamian island to the heights of Hollywood was still inspiring in it's realism and honesty. His recalling of prejudice and racism double standards hit me as I remember being told many similar things from my own Anitgua born parents. Mr. Poitier quotes a line I think the vast majority of minorities has heard at one time or another. It's not one of racism but of a parent share reality of American life with their child.

"You have to be twice as good as they are to even be considered"

I know I heard that as a child coming up as I made Honor Roll after Honor roll that I always had to aim higher to be seen. In addition to this Poitier doesn't shy away from raking himself over the coals as he speaks on his marital unfaithfulness and the effect it had on his children. Again its the open honesty that I must admire.I enjoyed this book and I'm appreciative of Mz.J sending it my way.

Inspiration

I can't help but think that after no more then 2 months in office sooo many people have started scratching their heads a bit about our new President. He's not doing this, why'd he do that, etc,etc as the critics and news anchors breakdown every breath he takes, but hey that's politics right. What is really on my mind is you.....and me and us. The people, the "little guys". How many tears were shed this past election night or this past inauguration? I ask that to ask this, What have you done to step your game up. What new things have you been inspired to do? I'm just curious if we have taken what was/is a very pivotal point in history and used it to fuel our deepest wants and desires. Granted it's only been 2 months but a lot can be done in 60 days.
