Morning Breath Vs. A.M Affection
While I've said before the Love is the most powerful thing on this planet, I may have been mistaken or at least a little premature in labeling Love as the undisputed champion. Apparently there is something that can stop Love in it's tracks......Morning Breath. This question came up last summer and I've just randomly asked a few people their views on it. Is an open mouth kiss ok first thing in the morning? 95% of the replies I got said no. Well they actually said "No, Hell No, That's nasty, Never, Nope, Eeewww, He better brush his teeth first, Morning sex yes but no kissing....etc,etc" This surprised me cuz these were the female replies. Women, the we need emotion, we need love and affection creatures of our human race all turning down this show of ultimate loving expression???
Now I can understand that this type of display A)Should be reserved for only the most loving of situations/partner ans B)It's not an everything day either but I think at, least for me, to roll over and want that with your mate is showing a great deal of affection. Yeah, does brushing ya teeth only take a few minutes?Yes, but the same can be said for getting and putting on a condom too so CLEARLY things aren't always about pure logic. Maybe I'm just odd. Similarly my woman coming in from the gym is appealing as well and I might not let her get to the shower.....

Story Time.....

Anyway... When I first met the loser, I gave him the look and the power handshake so he'd know he wasn't dealing with no bitch. But yesterday when we were moving out the last of her stuff from the attic and were almost done, this idiot started telling his son to say curse words. Then he tried to get the kid to say "mommy's a bitch" in Laotian. His dumb ass is either really stupid, or he forgot that my girl speaks the language. So she went off, which is what he was trying to get her to do anyway because he's mad she left his ass and is with me. So the ignoramus turns to me and is like "man, see how she tripping? This is what you're in for, bro." So I tell him "Man it ain't cool for you to be teaching your son to curse, especially to call his mother a bitch." That's when he says to me "you trying to give me parenting tips in my own house bro? Man you don't know me bro, I'll get my strap." I was like what? and started laughing, so he like "you laughing at me in my own house, nigga?" That set me off, because nobody calls me a nigga, especially no chink who's more NIGGER than most ignorant people.
So I said "ok' in a "I got you" voice, went and took the last box to my car and grabbed my steel bat (he was washing dishes the whole time, never moved from the kitchen) and was about to go wail on his ass, but my common sense prevailed and told me
A: There's a baby in the house, by his feet actually.
B: It's just words, you have a good life, don't throw it away on *a loser who is about to be stripped of EVERYTHING he holds dear.
C: You know where he lives and works, catch him on neutral ground.
So I put it back and told her to come on. The more I thought about it though on the way home, the more I had to laugh. because she talked like he was some badass, but for a guy who stands 5 inches taller than me and outweighs me by about 30 pounds... He had to say "before I get the strap?"
You that much of a bitch in your heart that you got to threaten to get a gun on a guy smaller than you?
Anyway, he's about to find out today just how much power I have over his life. Sunday I had her cut the power off, cut off date: today because it was in her name (they broke up 2 months ago).
Today she's filing change of address forms to show proof that she no longer lives there, because yesterday the landlord refused to take her name off the lease. if he gets evicted, she can sue the baby daddy for her half of the lease because she has documented proof that she no longer resided there.
Tomorrow she's filing for child support and her taxes so he can't get any of the money from his son (he threatened to take all the tax money the other day, but the dumbass doesn't even know his own sons or her SS#).
He can barely rent and car payments now, imagine what it's going to be like with child support payments.
Anyway, the nigger Laos doesn't scare me, and no she's not fucking him on the sly. If you've ever heard a chick talk about an ex they can't stand, then you'd know. If it wasn't for the baby, they'd have zero communication.

I know where I get my optimistic view of life and it's crazy circumstances from. It's definitely something I got from my mom. Her job unceremoniously laid her off back in May and things were a lil rough while trying to adapt but she always had a positive view on things. So as I prepare to exit the work force, this Friday marks her last day of unemployment before starting her new job on Monday.

Final Countdown.......
So the J-O-B ends this week. After Friday it's me, myself and I for a serious reconstruction plan. Some much needed me time to clear the mind and re focus on whats important and vital and very get a good jump on this year. I've got a good ability to see positive in what many my see as negative situations and I'll need that through this process. But in spite of the issues in the job market I'm really looking forward to this.
(I kinda started celebrating my freedom last nite.....too much alcohol but ooooh well.)

Sex Appeal....What is it really?
It changes with time and is unique to each of us. I may be in my own zone maybe at the gym, at a lounge or on the train, and I'll think to myself "Who finds that appealing?" or "I wonder what makes her feel attractive?" Some people give off that level of appeal while it remains more secretive with others.
Do I have sex appeal? I don't really think so. I know when I feel good going out or after a real good workout. I can admit to confidence more so then sex appeal. Perhaps that something that others notice in you more so then you notice in yourself?
That's not to overlook the internal aspects of appeal. My Nerd brain plays a huge part into whatever I or anyone else comes to think of me at this stage of life. I never really remember hearing girls say they found intelligence sexy in school. Oh well.

A current view of Love
It's another day, another friend gets engaged or turns up preg.It's interesting to me when someone I know gets a new love interest.I'm generally happy at the news, but when I hear more about it and get more detail my mind is always processing trying to see what the balance is. I'm always looking for the signs of danger vs the signs of promise. Number 1 to me is to see just how high on the priority ladder does the new person get elevated to. I have friends of both sexes who are notorious for making their new "other" the sun of their universe and it worries me every time.
You know the routine. No phone calls, random texts/bbm/emails every once in the blue to see if you're still alive and basic MIA status to everyone that's a mutual friend. That doesn't seem healthy to me. I know love can an overwhelming thing but it's got to have it's place within the grand scheme of things and not become in it self the whole scheme.
This isn't a new topic but I think what makes it stick with me more now it that we're not kids anymore that was one thing in high school and college but I personally want to know that at nearly 30, my people ain't prone to vanish over a pretty face. Things I thought were merely a product of youth are showing themselves to be much stronger.

It's clearly that time.
It's funny every year around the same time I reach a point. It's a point of irritability when I'm prone to go off on things/people I'd usually let slide. This always happens within the first 2-3 months of the year.
You see I know a lot of females. As I was discussing to my boys over the weekend, as men we have our "guys", the few guys we're cool with and associate with. We don't need an army of guys around us socially. It's only nature that from that we end up with more female friends then male friends. I think that what comes with this at one time or another is slick talk....unwanted sarcasm....random b.s.....Ms.Independent ranting......etc,etc. If you know enough ladies you'll hear it eventually.
Now no ones perfect so 95% of the time I overlook it, rationalize it and let it go. Logical me processes and deals with things with the least confrontation needed. But when too much side talk comes at me during a short period of time the result been for swift and powerful.
I had a situation like that happen last night where an online associate came out her face through a indirect subliminal statement and I had to speak on it and call her out.I was direct and forceful but not disrespectful. In the end it made me think about how much shit I let slide for the sake of keeping the peace.
We have the right to say what we want but I think folk forget that that right isn't a protection from the reactions of those your speaking to and about. I wont question your right to say something. I'll just question the judgment in the substance of what was said.
But it's cool. It's a balance. I hold in a lot and at times it needs to get out. My job is over in less then 2 weeks time after which I have mini trips, spa sessions and other activities that will cool things out as I prepare for the next stage of things.
What do y'all do to refocus yourselves and handle the stresses of life especially those of the opposite sex?

A Man's Job? or Women Can Do It Too!!
This was sparked by this post over at the Single Black Man take a sec to peep this for the full story.
Long story short it brings up the topic of who's role/job is it to spark or initiate interaction. I've spoken on this before but it also leads into the idea in my mind of many people wanted the best of the "old school" rules yet wanting to have the best of the "new school".
The female is a independent but when it's more convenient she becomes all submissive. Now I understand we should all be able to play different roles but I'm speaking more in terms of being selfish. In the department of "relationships" do you have rigid rules for what I guy has to do or do you allow for a degree of flexibility?
