New Thunder Cats Trailer

The Cartoon Network finally gives us full animation of the new look Thunder Cats. Japanese produced as you can tell by the style it gives an almost Lord of the Rings type vibe. I'm liking the fact that the planet Thundera gets more attention before it's destruction. They'll be debuting to the CN soon.

Versatility has always been Jay's strength.

The Chef Speaks on Shaolin vs Wu Tang

Rae is clearly in his zone as he prepares this newest project for the masses.

In 2009, the Wu's Raekwon made it clear why his longevity and skill is admired by so many, and even to this day, he's able can compete with the genre's best, especially on the mic. Because that year, he dropped a little album called Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II, which has nearly his gold sales -- a major feat, being that he released it independently -- and was touted as one of the standout LPs of the year.
Well, next week, the legendary rapper is hoping for a repeat, when he drops his upcoming fifth studio album, Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang, which Rae calls another classic.

"This one is fire too. It's another classic [following OBFCL 2]. I didn't stop, I managed to keep moving forward, saying 'You know what? I'm really gonna show n****s how I shoot this rifle this time,' " Raekwon explained to BallerStatus.com, during a recent sit down in Los Angeles. "Before I had a nice .45. Now I have a f***in' AK, the new 2012 sh**. The all you do is tap the button sh** and the sh** go 'burrrapp.' You know what I mean? That's where I'm at, mentally, right now.

JadaKiss Speaks on His Greatest Guest Verses

Kiss has been a part of some the greatest hip hop joints of the past 15 yrs. Spitting along side his fellow Yonkers partners, BIG, Jay-z, Big Pun and more builds quite a catalog. Jada gets down with VIBE to speak on the many features.

“I don’t think I always get the respect that I deserve,” says a matter-of-fact Jadakiss, who, of all things, is getting a haircut during a spirited interview. “This is the first time someone has ever done a tribute on me.” Indeed, Jason Phillips has had a long career of playing the role of your favorite MC’s MC. And yet as a founding member of the 1990’s Yonkers, New York rhyme trio The Lox, Jadakiss has experienced the kind of longstanding career that most artists would gladly exchange their souls on Robert Johnson’s crossroads for. The list of esteemed artists that the respected spitter has shared the booth with reads like a who’s who of legendary game-changing music luminaries: Notorious BIG, DMX, Mariah Carey, Big Pun, Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, Lil Wayne. After nearly two decades of rewind-worthy verses, song-stealing cameos and stints as the people’s lyrical champion, Jada finally gets his close-up. This is Full Clip.—Keith Murphy

N.O.R.E. feat. Big Pun, Nature, Cam’ron, Jadakiss & Styles P “Banned From TV” (1998)

“When you talk about this song you have to start with Pun. He was my man. He used to always tell me that I was his favorite rapper. We used to kick it a lot and he had a lot of love for me. There will be no other. He was a priceless piece of work that was lost in this hip-hop game. We should never underrate him…never forget him. He was an incredible lyricist.

Having Swizz Beatz do the track for ‘Banned From TV’ was great. But you want to hear something crazy? My solo song ‘All For The Love’ on that first Lox album was Swizz’ first beat heard by the world. I rhymed on the first Swizz Beatz track! So I had a one-up on everybody on ‘Banned’ [laughs]. We already heard the beat in the studio before, so Styles and me new exactly how to approach the song. We had a special synergy. Me and Styles would do that back and forth rhyme style like Run-DMC and EPMD. We admired all the groups that had two MC’s. I think the first time we recorded in that style was on ‘Dope Money’ on that Ruff Ryders compilation album. We just kept it going.

Killer Mike – Why Black History Month Is Still Important

Studio Life: Mike Bigga aka Killer Mike discusses Black History Month: Pt 1 from 3 Little Digs on Vimeo.

The game will never give this man the attention he deserves. Mike quickly gives his thoughts on the need for Black History Month.

Smh @ the 1:19. Really? Who's Huey? O_O

Part 2 Below...

Studio Life: Mike Bigga aka Killer Mike discusses Black History Month: Pt 2 of 2 from 3 Little Digs on Vimeo.

Billboard of Beautiful Black Child the Face of Anti Abortion Campaign

During Black History month we have the above billboard sparking conversation and outrage. Abortion is a touchy subject as is but I personally do find it a little tasteless a way to get your across. It's very much a scare tactic but I just don't like the way it attempts to villainize those that elect to have abortions. I dont think anyone could deny that there are many that use the procedure as mere birth control but I also think you turn people off to your intended message with such a crass presentation.

And that fact that it is so targeted to just US as black people is another point that I don't like. If it is a call out to "do better" then again we shoot ourselves in the foot by so publicly airing out our business.

“During Black History Month, we celebrate our History, but our future is in jeopardy as a genocidal plot is carried out through abortion,” said Life Always Board Member Pastor Stephen Broden.

Nice one Pastor...............smh

Green Lantern Emerald Knights [Trailer]

The love the DVD releases more so then many of the movies these days. The freedom and creativity seems to flow so much more effortlessly. And here's the 2nd Lantern protect to drop in the past year.

The trailer to DC's all new animated film Green Lantern: Emerald Knights debuted earlier this week on Yahoo Movies. The film, which is set to be released on DVD and Blue Ray this June, is produced by Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: Under the Red Hood). Timm spoke briefly about the upcoming movie, hinting that it is less like a sequel to the previous Green Lantern animated film, and likens more to Batman: Gotham Knight.
"This one focuses directly on the other members of the Green Lantern Corps," he explained. "It's similar in format to the 'Batman: Gotham Knight' movie we did a couple of years ago, with six individual stories all tied up in an overall arc. ['Emerald Knights'] is similar in that each of the individual stories focuses on one of the other Green Lanterns."

Damn!!! The GOP Don't Like Ladies It Seems

This is a list of the kind of plans they are working on for the fairer sex. From MoveOn.org:
Top 10 Shocking Attacks from the GOP War on Women

1) Republicans not only want to reduce women's access to abortion care, they're actually trying to redefine rape. After a major backlash, they promised to stop. But they haven't.
2) A state legislator in Georgia wants to change the legal term for victims of rape, stalking, and domestic violence to "accuser." But victims of other less gendered crimes, like burglary, would remain "victims."
3) In South Dakota, Republicans proposed a bill that could make it legal to murder a doctor who provides abortion care. (Yep, for real.)
4) Republicans want to cut nearly a billion dollars of food and other aid to low-income pregnant women, mothers, babies, and kids.
5) In Congress, Republicans have proposed a bill that would let hospitals allow a woman to die rather than perform an abortion necessary to save her life.
6) Maryland Republicans ended all county money for a low-income kids' preschool program. Why? No need, they said. Women should really be home with the kids, not out working.
7) And at the federal level, Republicans want to cut that same program, Head Start, by $1 billion. That means over 200,000 kids could lose their spots in preschool.
8.) Two-thirds of the elderly poor are women, and Republicans are taking aim at them too. A spending bill would cut funding for employment services, meals, and housing for senior citizens.
9) Congress voted yesterday on a Republican amendment to cut all federal funding from Planned Parenthood health centers, one of the most trusted providers of basic health care and family planning in our country.
10) And if that wasn't enough, Republicans are pushing to eliminate all funds for the only federal family planning program. (For humans. But Republican Dan Burton has a bill to provide contraception for wild horses. You can't make this stuff up).

Black Comic Pioneer and Comic Writer Dwayne McDuffie Passes Away.....

Comic Book Resources reported Tuesday that prolific comics writer and animation producer Dwayne McDuffie passed away as the result of "complications due to a surgical procedure performed Monday
evening." The sad news comes on the same day that the All-Star Superman animated feature went on sale in North America. Based on the comic book series by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, the screenplay was written by McDuffie, who considered the finished film to be his favorite piece of animation work and spoke with ComicsAlliance at the New York premiere.

Dwayne McDuffie was a veteran storyteller respected by fans and creators alike. In comics, he is perhaps best associated with Milestone Media, the publishing company he co-founded with Denys Cowan to spotlight the work of African-American creators and characters. McDuffie's most famous creation for Milestone was the character Static, whose series was published from 1993 to 1997. Co-created by John Paul Leon, Static went on to appear in the popular Static Shock! animated series as well as many other books published by DC Comics, including a brand new ongoing series launching later this year.

For more than one generation of fans, McDuffie will always be beloved for his work as Executive Producer and head writer of Justice League Unlimited, the animated series that so perfectly expressed the action, humor and spirit of the DC Universe. Through the show, McDuffie is responsible for endearing viewers to the DC superheroes and to the genre in general, including many minorities and women, whom the writer always depicted with boldness and grace.

UPDATE: CBR is reporting that McDuffie died from complications having to do with "a surgical procedure" performed Monday evening.

Forbes Fictional 15: "I Get Money!!!!!"

The Forbes Fictional 15 is a list generated by Forbes magazine that lists the 15 richest people in the realm of fiction. The members are characters from movies, books, cartoons and television. The current list was written in 2010.
To qualify for the list members must be "both fictional (in the sense that we excluded mythological and folkloric figures) and characters (meaning they are part of a narrative story or series of stories)." And of course, rich. The one exception to the rule was Santa, a mythological character, whom Forbes decided was an "irresistible" addition, although he has been absent from the list since 2006. Forbes stated, "We still estimate Claus's net worth as infinite, but we excluded him from this year's rankings after being bombarded by letters from outraged children insisting that Claus is 'real.' We don't claim to have settled the ongoing controversy concerning Claus's existence, but after taking into account the physical evidence—toys delivered, milk and cookies devoured—we felt it was safer to remove him from consideration."

Baby Boy Speaks......And I'm Not Mad At Him

While going about my usual business I noticed a few folk online referencing Tyrese and that apparently he had made some online comments that had a few people less then happy. So, out of curiosity I decided to see what the big deal is. It turned out to be more relationship tweets and talk of separating from friends.

What I did find interesting was 1, his "understanding" of the thought process that leads to cheating...

And 2, his final question he poses. I know everyone gives themselves A+ grades sexually, at least. in the public. But I have to think this question has to strike a nerve with folk who know deep down their not giving their all. Cheating in never good but yes that in a mentally that makes it somewhat understandable.

"Unknown" White Student Elected to Assist African American Student Union at Flordia School.....Word???

Top job: Members of the African American Student Union were left open-mouthed and outraged after white, freshman Torey McCleskey was hired as assistant director for the group

In all honesty I don't really have an issue with the fact that the new elect is white if his credentials stand and show that he's really about this. But from the information below it does sound a lil suspect as to whats really going on.

Members of the African-American Student Union at the University of North Florida were outraged by the appointment of the new Assistant Director. He's said to have only attended one meeting, is a freshman, and is white.

The Daily Mail
reported that a dozen members protested when Torey McCleskey was choosen to be the assistant director by the school's senate.

"We didn't even know who he was. He has attended one event and he left early," a member told Newsforjax.com.

Ironically, McCleskey was selected this Black History Month on Feb. 14 by a unanimous student government vote according to the school newspaper 'The Spinnaker'. He's a slam poet who beat out a mechanical engineering junior and Christa Merix, an executive member of AASU with three years experience in the group. He didn't even seem angered by the student's grievances and walked past their protest saying the students had a right to express their opinions.

Merix said "they (Student Body President Byll-Cataria and Student Body Vice President Giovannie Medina) are using Torey as a white poster-child for diversity to fulfill their personal agenda of a multicultural agency."

Medina replied 'I don't see color when I interview candidates."

It Gets Better w/ Keri HIlson

Keri Hilson has signed on to give her support to the It Get's Better Project which is focused on confronting the issue of "bullying" within the nations schools. Below she shares her story of childhood bullying issues. I personally still have mixed feeling about this new age bullying topic but I guess it's just another change in the social dynamic of things.

Keri's Story:
I grew up a little girl with a big, big, big, big dream. Unfortunately, everyone doesn’t see the same thing in you that you might see in yourself. I remember early years of singing and being teased for my voice and people saying “Oh, you do too much with your voice, you can’t sing, you’ll never be a singer.” On the back of the school bus they use to ask me to sing and then talk about me later. I just remember that was horrifying, because that was my biggest dream and that was something …..I remember a time I was so reluctant to tell or share my talent with anyone outside of my immediate family. For them to attack it and say “Oh, you’ll never make it” I remember being distraught, I remember years of feeling not worthy and comparing myself of who I saw on TV and just saying, “Wow, you know I really want this and I’m going to die trying.” It wasn’t until I relinquished their power over me…They don’t have the power to tell me whether or not I can make it. You can’t empower anyone to attack your vision because I saw it so clearly in my head. I saw myself on that stage, I heard me singing, I saw me accepting awards and doing everything I’m doing now, I saw it then.

I’m a testament to the fact that dreams do come true but you have to believe in yourself and not seek validation in others opinions. Today, right now, I can tell you if your going through the same thing, if you have a dream that you’re fighting and others are telling you, “just keep it a hobby” or others are telling you, “I don’t think you’re talented enough,” or others are telling you, “you should probably get a real job” or others are telling you whatever it is they’re telling you about your dream, about your look, your likeness, whatever….it gets better, it gets better. But you have to make it better.

Beyonce Dons Blackface for French Mag

Hmmm......I get the intention. I'm just not a fan of blackface no matter who's doing it. Thoughts?

Translation of the above Mag text:
The Fashion magazine is about to celebrate its 90th birthday. To celebrate this anniversary, the festivities start with the March issue, with Beyoncé on the cover. She agreed to pose for an incredible fashion shoot, with the theme of African Queen, paying a tribute to the legendary Fela Kuti. Far from the glamorous Sasha Fierce, the beauty posed for the magazine with amazing fashion designers clothes, but also in a dress created by her mother. [It is] A return to her African roots, as you can see on the picture, on which her face was voluntarily darkened. All the pictures will be available in the collector edition, on sell at the end of this month.

Video of New X-Men Anime Released.

1st Visuals of the new X-men anime from the shores of Japan. Nice

Details below via CA

Iron Man and Wolverine have been getting their turns at anime adaptations from Madhouse, but now it's the X-Men's time to shine... and blast, and slash, and shoot lightning magically. Animax has posted a new streaming commercial of the series, showing off the merry Marvel mutant's adventures, which debut in Japan on April 1 before G4 brings the series to America sometime later in 2011.

From what's shown, the upcoming X-Men anime seems aesthetically similar to the team's Astonishing looks over the past few years. That seems to jibe with the fact that Madhouse's Marvel projects were announced back in 2009 (and that writer Warren Ellis has been involved from the get-go).

The anime's storyline is a bit of a mystery, but as with Iron Man and Wolverine, fans can likely expect a narrative that allows for its share of explosions. Whatever manifests, I hope the show's title sequence is as awesome as
Japan's version of the '90s X-Men animated series intro.

Hump Day Thoughts......

When I was a young teenager just the idea of being "liked" by a girl was a novel concept. I didn't know what love really meant but if a cute female was willing to say she liked me then that was enough for me. As years passed by there evolved more of a definition or at least requirements of what had to occupy claims of emotions to towards me but even going into my 20's just hearing "I love you" would still have the effect of making everything seem alright. Now it's almost the opposite for me. The words get my attention but to hold it is the key now. Without the ability or at least the attempt to hold those words up they run the risk of falling flat. I've put so much into "proving" myself over the years that now I stand so content in who I am that the world in general needs to so prove itself to me......

Happy Hump Day

Esperanza Spalding's Win Holds Mirror Up To Music "Fans"

Not even 48 hrs removed from the Grammy's and the "who is she?" comments are still running rampant online for Esperanza Spalding the Best New Artist Winner that upset many included Pop sensation Justin Beiber. Even Mr. Kanye seemed at the vert least "puzzled" by the results.

Did it ever strike people that 1) Most folk didnt know Drake for the better part of his early career either? and 2) Just maybe the best music isn't always the most commercially successful?

Esperanza Spalding has been grinding, putting out albums and touring for years, Including performances for the President. Just cuz YOU weren't aware of your doesn't devalue what she's done. She was brought to my attention maybe 1 1/2 ago by request of Bright Eyes so it's nice to see for success now.

Well technically he didn't wrestling but for a solid 15 minutes he did what he always did better then anyone. The Rock delivered an electric promo kicking off the official road to Wrestlemania. I won't go into the wrestling specifics but seeing the crowd finally have something of substance to cheer for had the lil kid in me alive and well.

Rambling at 9pm......

I'm emotionally tired. Not in a beat down manner but the energies needed to make certain things happen are just not in me at the moment. They've been spent trying to make things happen and when they don't pan out it takes time to get those energies back. Funny thing is that while the energy is low, emotions rarely run out. So you want what you want, you miss who you miss regardless of what the circumstances are. My outward presentation to the world is stoic and calm. But there are a few that know me better then that. Even fewer that do their part to help make life a little more pleasant.

As I think about the future I wonder what I'd tell my child about dealing with their feelings and the opposite sex. Would I tell my son to be open and expressive? To man up and never show weakness? Would I tell my princess what the majority of boys really want. Yeah I'm getting ahead of myself by that's how my mind works. I'm built a particular way. It's all I know and it's all that's worked for me.

I've grown and continue to do so. I look back at previous years, good times, relationships and break ups, my reactions to them, achievements and disappointments.....so much has happened. God willing so much more to experience. Yet I'm tired.....I'm tired of repetitious actions or lack of action. Words with no works. How long is it supposed to pass. We'll see....

T.I Expresses Just What Tiny Means To Him

Many people are quick to take shots at Tiny, usual on her appearance but with all that said many of the people poppin' off about her wish they had someone to declare the things about them that T.I does in the newest issue of XXL mag.

Can’t say enough about how special of a woman I have. It takes a lot to endure the worst of times and still stay grounded during the best of times. She’s been able to do so for long as I can remember. For all that and more, I just adore her in every way. I love her spirit, her heart, her integrity and her loyalty. She’s the love of my life and the girl of my dreams. I’ve heard so much about it being hard for true love to exist in the fast lanes of Hollywood, when dudes can’t stay respectfully committed and chicks can’t stay out their man’s pockets. But somehow she makes it easy, and we never had those problems. Some women can’t keep up with their men and other can’t seem to slow theirs down. She’s shown that she can do both in grand fashion. A man like couldn’t ask for a better match. When the world has turned on me and there is darkness all around, she finds a way to bring light in my life and provide positive energy in the face of some of the most extreme circumstances. As long as we have us, fuck da world….nothing else really matters. I’d lay my life down for her and wouldn’t blink about it. In my eyes, she’s the most beautiful woman inside and out. I wouldn’t trade her for all the sun on the beach. As much as I’ve done wrong in life, I’m convinced that I must’ve done something right to deserve a woman as great as her. And I’ll forever do all I can to continue to show my undying love and appreciation.

If you know me then you know how much I respect that bold line....
